Trash or Treasure?

The store I work at got a case of pears in the other day and they were packed in this wood crate. I snagged it up before it went out in the trash because I know that there is something I can do with it, I'm just not sure what.

I actually have two of these now because I got one about a year ago too. So far the only thing I've used it for is to hold magazines. They are a nice size, measuring 19 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches and 10 inches high.
If I could just get my crafty brain to start working, I know I could come up with something creative to do with them.
So tell me, what would you do with them?

Maybe a shadowbox or a dog bed (line it with puffs and a pillow) or paint it and hang it on the wall for curios...Hahaa...geez sweetie, I probably need more coffee!!
Have a great Sunday!!hughugs

Not sure what I would do with it, but it is definitely a treasure rather than trash!

Golly I don't have a clue but I love them!! I have some old antique crates that we found while living in Maine, but, they are completely enclosed and I use them as end tables.

I love boxes...what can I say? Best wishes!!:-)

These really remind me of the orange boxes we had as kids. My grandma painted them and then made us little mattresses for inside. Add a cover and a doll and we had hours of fun with them. Thanks for bringing back a great memory!!

I used to put records in crates like these, but that was obviously many years ago. Maybe they could be used as a sort of decoration to inspire thoughts of the past.

You could line them with fabric and use them for storage for just about anything!

My cats would take it over so I'm not sure of a more practical use for the crate but I'd love to see what you come up with!

Wooden crates are plenty useful. Glad you took them home with you! Stack them in your pantry and use for jars, canned food etc.

have a great day!

Donna, not a bad idea, seeing as how Duke has already used it a couple times...lol

Rose, my sentiments exactly

Jackie, end tables sound cool, too bad these weren't that big

June, ah the good old days. the days when the box was more fun than the toy that came in it...lol

Ratty, all my vinyl is long gone too but good idea with the nostalgia decorating

Lynne, I've definately got enough left over material around that I could do that

Beaded tail, if my cat was still around he would probably have taken posession of it also

Duni, I don't have a pantry but I'm sure something will find it's way into these crates

I dig those pear crates. I'd use 'em for mags or DVDs.

You could line them with polyurethene and plant in them.

Vange, one of them already is full of magazines

Miawa I'm afraid the only thing I can get to grow is weeds but that's a great idea if I ever get a green thumb
