What to do

The holidays are over, the snow is flying, and things can get back to normal. That is, of course, if there is such a thing as normal.

I spent a little time yesterday laying on the couch watching TV which is NOT a normal thing for me to do.

The Christmas decorations are down and packed back up. Now I just have to get around to taking it all to the basement and putting it in the crawl space. Maybe tomorrow. I don't want to over do things.

I fed my fascination with paper folding by trying out a tutorial I found for making paper folded German stars. It took me several tries before I finally paid close enough attention to the video to get it right. This one isn't perfect but at least I have it figured out. I did this one with newspaper strips. If you're interested you can find the tutorial at With a grateful prayer and a thankful heart.

Now I think I'll go steal my blanket back from Duke and curl up on the couch and stay warm for the rest of the night

Did you get the blanket from Duke yet? I thought not. Bwahahahahaha. You know you aren't going to disturb him, you are going to get another blanket for yourself. That's what I do.

Have a terrific evening. :)

I was going to say what Sandee did! Maybe you and Duke can just snuggle together and share the blanket!

the stars look kinda complicated...I am going to try my hand a crocheting this year...there is a new magazine coming out with step by step in it so I thought why not!!! Hope you get around to storing your decorations ...mine are now stored in the loft for another year....enjoy the weekend Ann.

I saw a lot of those star ornaments at the Christmas markets I visited, but your version using newspaper strips is übercool :)
Isn't it nice to snuggle down with your pet on a cold winter's day?

stay warm,

Duni

We are not so eager to get our blankets back after our little darlings...umm...well..."mark" them as their own.

Oh, I need to try that German Star, too cool! I'm all about curling up on the sofa with a nice warm blanket and watching a good flick...now if I could just figure out how to sneak Bella in the house to watch it with me, my life would be complete (Ha :o)

Sandee, actually by the time I went back he had moved on to something else

Beaded tail we did share for awhile but then he thought that pops blanket looked snugglier

Buggys nothing wrong with that I"m frequently a slug on my days off

Grace, yep it sure was

Gayle by the first of the year I'm sick of looking at them

Allotments4you they really aren't that hard to do. I taught myself how to crochet several years ago. I've only made blankets but I enjoy it and have been thinking I need to start doing more of it

Duni when I first saw them I fell in love. I was also reading on that site about how she dipped the completed stars in wax

FishHawk I've been lucky there haven't had that problem. I can see your point for not wanting them back :)

Jen I saw another blog that posted a wreath that she made out of the stars, very cool.
If you figure a way to sneak Bella in I do hope you post about it on your blog :)

Sounds like a plan to me. You and that little cutie could snuggle up and share that blanket. I love days like that :) BTW that paper folding is really cool.
