First official project

I told you the other day that I did my first official craft project using my Cricut. I've actually used it quite a bit but just playing around trying to get it all figured out. I've cut a lot of different things from plain cardstock that I may eventually use but at the moment who knows.
I saw a tutorial on Christine's blog JAZ creations and I fell in love with the idea. Of course I fall in love with lots of ideas and have good intentions of getting back to them and actually making them. THIS time I actually did. I've been bringing home garbage from work again, a.k.a. art material. I started saving corrugated cardboard to use for this project.
I won't bore you with all the details. If you want to make something like this you can check out Christine's tutorial. Here's what I made.

You did a good job with this one. It looks very natury, which is something I always like.

Gad, how do you that? Very pretty and creative - I have not a creative bone in my body...I am so envious!

Love it! Is that spray paint or chalk? I guess either would work.

Ann, I love that. It has such an earthy feel and a wonderful message. Oh, how I wish I could create something like that. You are one talented gal.

LDH thank you very much.

Ratty thanks, it does have a natury feel to it

Grace, thanks so much. I just started playing and that's what it turned into

WillOaks the worst part is that once I cut the shapes out my brain has to figure out what to do with them

Buggys, I started with acrylic paints in several different colors and just sponged it on.

Poetic Shutterbug thank you. I bet you could do it, you're quite talented yourself.

I LOVE IT!! That is amazing! the flowers are wonderful and make me wish mine were blooming - oh wait - I have to plant them first :)
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Beaded Tail thank you, I think that by using the free cardboard I was less afraid of messing things up and so just went at it. I have a bad habit of buying things for a project then never starting because I'm afraid I'll screw it up...lol

Junezach thanks for the great review. I appreciate it

Duni Thanks, I'm never quite sure where to put things, and I tend to either end up with a mess or something highly over done.

FishHawk, thanks, i think :)

Audrey I wish mine were blooming too. I don't usually plant new ones I just wait to see what comes up from years past. Very rarely do I buy annuals. I think it's because I'm so cheap...lol

Christine, thanks, I owe you a big thank you for the inspiration

Donna, thanks, I wish I could take credit for it all but I get my ideas from other people. I don't know that I have an original thought in my head.

Me-Me thank you very much

Alterity Button Jewelry thanks. You are talking about the cricut and not the cardboard right?...lol

Very cute! I can see why you like that thing so much!

I LOVE cardboard too! Your idea is really gorgeous ... love love love!!

I have no clue what a cricut is, but I guess I could Google it. That looks pretty cool though so I know it's gotta be one of your crafting tools, I really like your creativity.

I love it. Such a great statement piece. You really should think about setting up an Etsy shop now. It takes a little bit of time but you def have the talent and the proper equipment now.

Ann said...

Sheri, thanks, yes I do like it lots

Vickie thanks, cardboard is just so versatile.

Jude yep it's my newest crafting tool from my daughter.

Gayle, thank you very much

Lenox knits why thank you. I have thought about the Etsy thing but I just haven't quite made that move yet.
