While we were out

Wednesday night Amanda (my daughter for those of you who don't already know) came over for dinner. It was so great to see her again. We had steaks on the grill and made plans to shop the next day.
Little did she know that I would be armed with my camera to record the day.
She was on a mission to find some new clothes, so first stop was Kohl's. Not a whole lot of luck but she did find a sweater that she liked.

This is when I first pulled out the camera. I think I embarrassed her but isn't that what a mother is for?
Next there was a stop at the Verizon store. She needed to ask about a problem with her phone and I wanted the cool clip on cover like she had for her phone.
Next stop was lunch at TGIFriday's
My lunch

and hers

After that we headed to the mall. I know, lets park by A.C.Moore (ulterior motives here)
Time to shop

Had to stop in the Hallmark store to check out the selection of Snoopy stuff.
Since I'm getting a little carried away here I won't show you the pictures from Walmart or the gas station. I'll just skip to the last stop of the day.
It was a fun day but I can't believe how tired I was once I got home. Ian (Amanda's boyfriend) chose to spend the day mowing the lawn with his dad instead of joining us. I laughed when Amanda said he was excited about mowing the lawn. First time I've ever heard anyone say that.

What a great mother-daughter day! I love spending the day shopping with my daughter. Looks like Amanda chose a healthier lunch than you. But those fries looked really tasty. Ian really missed a wonderful outing.:)

Your lunch looked great!!! Now, I'm hungry.
I have to agree with Ian, when it comes to shopping, I'd rather mow the lawn, too :)
I'm glad that you both had a fun time shopping!

Glad you two had a great time together. Funny how much that stuff can wear you out sometimes isn't it? :o)

Am I getting the right impression that your daughter has refused to give you permission to publish a picture of her face?

Well it looks like you had a great time. Too bad we can't see what Amanda looks like. We promise not to stalk her.

That looked like a super day. I am exhausted just hearing about all the places you went. But what fun. The lunch looked really good.

What a great day!! Yes - mother's are supposed to embarrass their children. We have to get them back for all the times they did it to use when they were small :)

I love to mow grass! It's 2.5 hours of uninterrupted time.

Loved seeing your day out! I especially enjoy the emphasis on food. My oldest boy leaves again today--back to his college town. Love these kids, don't we?

Thank you for taking us all out on your special mother-daughter-outing!

Just for the record, my mother took me to Kohl's to shop for clothes the last time I was at home with her. We had fun too. But we did not eat out. We waited until we got home.

Tell Amanda it's ok. We've all already seen pics of her earlier on your blog!

Best wishes,
Anna

Should have taken me along, I have a 30% coupon for Kohls. Burns my hand when they get that high.

How fun. I knew you'd have a great time. I can remember my outings with my mom. They were always fun. I sure miss them too.

I love both of the lunches, but I'd have ordered the chicken/pasta one like Amanda did. I rarely turn down pasta.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

I love the way you've taken an ordinary day and made it exciting and fun. That lunch both yours and hers, though yours would have been my choice as well, looks wonderful. I adore Snoopy, so to see him here makes me smile - Big Time!

What a lovely day...and those lunches look delish!

I wonder if a day of shopping made mowing the grass sound so much more enjoyable? Hmmm....
