A Monday Sunday

I hate it when my schedule gets changed around at work. I always end up not knowing what day it is for the rest of the week. I had to work today so it feels like Monday but it's really Sunday. It's all good though because I only have 2 more days to work this week. I scheduled some vacation time for the second half of the week. Nothing fun though I'm having some major dental work done on Wednesday and figured I wouldn't feel like going to work the next day and I hate to call off.

So, I just realized the other day that I missed my blogoversary. My blog turned 2 on October 9th. I also sailed right by post number 500 without even realizing it. BUT, today is my 600th post.

No fanfare for the occasion but I do have a favor to ask of you wildlife experts. I saw a bird on the front tree the other day. It was on the trunk of the tree pecking away at it so I naturally though Woodpecker. I ran for the camera and by the time I got back it was gone. Well it came back yesterday and I was prepared. After looking at pictures of woodpeckers I'm not so sure that's what this is.
I had another picture but his head was down. You can't really see the beak too well but it's long and skinny like a woodpecker's. As for it's color, I can't say for sure if the color is off on this or not but everything else looks right. So who knows what this is?

Happy 2nd Blogoversary and happy 500 and now 600 posts.

As for the bird? I don't have a clue. I'm not an expert either, so I hope one passes by.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

Did he walk down the tree face first?? If so, I think it is a nuthatch.

I had that whole week mix-up thingy this week and that is how I missed I Love Hobbes Thursday!!! I know how you feel, pally!

Oh--Happy anniversary! I'm glad you are my blog pally. :)

I've never seen a bird like that before but I have heard of a nuthatch so bet Lin is right.

Hope you and Duke are having a great Sunday evening!

Congratulations on your 600th post and your blogoversary. That is quite an accomplishment! I have no idea what type of bird that is, but it is really colorful.
Best wishes on your dental work. I have bad case of "White Coat Syndrome," so I don't envy you.

Yup, it appears to be a white breasted nuthatch.

And a Happy Blogoversary to you!

600th post!!! Wow! congratulations!
And oh no...dental work...not nice at first but you will feel so much better later! Make sure to have plenty of fun movies around to watch!
What a pretty bird... I would say a blue jay - but that's just from remembering them when I was a girl growing up in Virginia. Don't quote me on it! :) Wish I did know birds... Definitely love to hear them sing and see them fly! Let me know when you find out!
Blessings for a quick recovery!

Wow, I came back just in time to sy congratulations!!

Oh boy I have missed you tons. I was so excited when you stopped over. I am so glad to know you are doing well.

As for the bird, it looks like a Blue Jay to me. That's what we call them down here anyway. We have them all over the place.

They ar very aggressive birds and will swoop down and attack dogs, cats, you or whatever to protect their nesting place, if it is indeed a Blue Jay.

As for Sunday being Monday, the same here for me. It seems I canot find my Google pw to make changes to my blog.

Firefox has it stored for me and I can't figure out what it is to give to LJ who works on my blog.

And, I can't Blogger or Google to answer my emails. So I may be starting a new blog if I can't get this worked out.....lol...I am still the same old scatter brain.

Congrats again and I hope you have a fantastic day!!
Big hugs...XX:-)

All of these questions about different birds are killing me. For I used to be well-versed on the subject, but now I just draw blanks. I don't remember nuthatches being so blue, but Lin is probably right. Whoa, did I just say that Lin is probably right? I think I need to go lay down now.

papers.
Everyone got your bird ID good, I think they are like little clowns flitting around and a favorite for me to watch.
