weekend warriors

Wade and I are pretending to be weekend warriors today.  We did the dining room floor but since the living room and dining room are more or less one room we really wanted to do the living room too. We unexpectedly were able to buy the materials sooner than we thought so New Years eve day while I was at work Wade tore up the carpet in the living room.
This morning we got started and we've been working on it all day. I suppose if we were younger we could have been done sooner but old knees need frequent breaks. I'm almost afraid to lay down tonight because I don't know if I'll ever get back up. I've got the Ben-Gay on hand just in case.
I do have pictures of the room while we were working but haven't had time to get them off the camera yet.
Tomorrow I'll be more prepared with a post (I think so anyway).
If I didn't get around to visiting you today I promise I'll catch up. I've only been able to do my rounds while we've been taking breaks.
Breaks over, back to work!

Can't wait to see the pictures. You've done some really great things during the holidays. I remember the painting during Thanksgiving. Got to do it when you can.

I hope your knees are kind to you in the morning.

Have a pain-free day. My best to your snoopervisor Duke. :)

Wow! You were certainly much more productive this weekend than I was. I did get lots of magazines thrown out in the recycle but that's nothing compared to laying a new floor!

When I was doing our living room and dining room, I finally had to swallow my pride and use my wife's knee pads. I couldn't believe how my knees hurt after only a few hours. I SO wish I had some brain cells and would have thought about taking pictures while I was doing ours: it just never occurred to me.

It's not bad at all to start the year with energy and many things to do. As you said in your previous post, let's keep looking ahead!

Sounds like you need to invest in some foam kneepads, they are the best. I am sure you could add some bling to them to make them more appealing.LOL

Wood floors of any kind are so much nicer than wall-to-wall. Carpets just are yucky and dirty, especially if you have pets.
