On the fringe

I ordered a new toy and I spent part of my weekend playing with it.
This is what it looks like.

You run a strip of paper through it and this is what you get

I had lots of fun out on the deck. I had my stuff, or junk as Wade calls it, spread all over the entire table

Here's a close up some of the flowers I made with the fringed strips of paper.
I could just cut the strips by hand like my blog pal Cheryl (check out her fringed flowers) but I don't have the patience and my cuts are very inconsistent.

Before I go, I wanted to mention that my little toy came from Quilling Superstore. I was very impressed by how fast I got my order. I placed my order on July 20th and received it on the 23rd. If you ever need quilling supplies, I would  recommend this web site. No, they didn't pay me to say this and I didn't get any cool free products for giving them a thumbs up. Just a shout out to say that there are still some businesses out there that do good.

Well that large shot looked a little too difficult for me to handle but when I saw those precious little flowers you made - WOW!!! I love those. Too cute.

I could have that cool machine and still mess up the paper. I've not a crafty bone in my body.

Why do men call our stuff junk and there junk is cool necessary stuff. I've always wondered about that.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

What adorable flowers, now I want to see all the stuff you create with this!! Here's a laugh for you; when I first saw this machine, I thought it was a meat slicer!!

I would never have guessed what that was!

How adorable! I wouldn't have the patience to do it by hand. Enjoy!

These are just lovely Ann - and you perhaps could try doing something similar with rice paper and have wonderful edible decorations for your cakes! I love the colours .. orange is so cheerful. Are you going to place these onto flower wires to make a posy?

oh you got your new toy....I think you will love it. The nice thing about the fringer is the even cutting.

I still have a plan to do the video tutorial on fringing by hand but it will be a bit because of work.

have fun playing with your meat slicer (hehe....loved that comment). If only she could see how small it is.

That is awesome! I was trying to figure out what it was for--I was way off--I thought it had to do with beads!

And the flowers are beautiful. Are those for the show?

Great new toy and great job using it.I checked out that website and it is really neat. I was thinking of getting Maya(7 yr old) a beginners kit.
PS How did the craft show go?

you could put magnets on these for the fridge or put them on the big paper clips. they are cute, one year many many many years ago i made butterfly magnets and sold enough to buy my boys bikes fro Christmas. does the machine do other things or just this

I think it is just awful that Wade would consider your crafting "stuff" junk. (If you don't get it, ask Duke.)

Those flowers are so pretty! I'm a very inconsistent cutter as well. I am so thankful for paper trimmers when I decide to get "crafty". Which is rare, of course, but you know....
