A fishy story

Imagine if you will, a 10 gallon aquarium sitting in your house. Four little fish swimming around happily until suddenly without warning their world is turned upside down.
In the time it takes for a person to fall backwards into an aquarium, their home was floating around on my living room and dining room floor.

Actually the fish weren't exactly floating. They were more or less doing a flip flop, help I can't breathe kind of thing.
Are you aware that the reaction time from an event such as this until one can respond and start grabbing towels in quite remarkably slow?
So let me explain what happened. I bought a new desk and Wade and a friend were carrying it in from the car. (This was an unassembled desk in a box) They get just about even with the fish tank when Wade's friend loses his grip on the box. The box crashes to the floor and his friend falls backwards against the fish tank. All three of us stood there with a look of shock and Duke was thinking "COOL, we have an indoor swimming pool"

The next day, Wade's friend came back over with a replacement aquarium and the three surviving fish were released from their prison back into their new home. When we were cleaning everything up, we only found 3 of the fish, which were put in a bowl for hopefully safe keeping. I was convinced that Duke must have had a fish dinner that night but while sifting through the gravel from the old aquarium we found the fourth, now deceased, fish. May he rest in peace in that great fish tank in the sky.

Scary---but glad it all worked out. That was nice of Wade's friend to replace the aquarium for you...

Happy New Year... Are you working tomorrow or off??? Most folks seem to have tomorrow off since today was a Sunday.

Hugs,
Betsy

Rest in peace little fishy.
I can imagine it only too well, having a 25 gallon fish tank in my living room!
I'm so pleased you managed to save three of them. xx

I am sorry for your loss. By the way, did you let Wade's friend actually carry the replacement into the house, or did you meet him at the front door?

Oh no! Too bad for you and the poor fish who perished... We currently have only one fish... I can only imagine the "mess"
Hugs,
Antonella :-)

Ack! Poor fish - and poor you for having to clean all of that up (eek). Duke definitely gets bonus points for foregoing the sushi for supper ;o)

I hope Duke didn't have fish breath. What a catastrophe!

What about all the damage to the floors/rugs/furniture et al? 10 gallons of water is no small drip!

Yikes! That sounds like a disaster! My Mommeh is always afraid that Harley will knock Bert & Ernie's tank over since he likes to sit on top of it.

Our neighbors fish tank just broke somehow and thankfully they were home to get to the fish. Poor things. Sorry about the fourth fish.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

Well that wouldn't have been a fun situation to deal with! Sorry about the fourth fish but glad the other three survived! It was nice of your friend to replace the tank. Glad no one else got hurt!

Oh NO! Poor fish! :( Stuff like that happens, but you sure feel bad for the fishies when it does. We once had a power outage for 3 days and we lost a couple of fish because there was no oxygen in the water. It was sad.

Well, I am glad that no one was hurt. And that was great that the tank was replaced--what a great friend!

Well, you brought some excitement to the world of 3 fishies, but I think that might have ended much worse. Glad everyone is ok.

ACK! I thought I heard a scream from your part of the world! Poor fishes! Poor floor. Poor you having to clean up the mess. Thank goodness the friend wasn't hurt.

Wow, that does sound pretty darn scary. Sure glad you were able to rescue three of the fish. RIP fourth fish. That sure was nice of the friend to get you another aquarium so quickly. The fish look happy in their new home. Take care.

Not quite the Happy New Year you were going for I'm sure!
I know exactly what you're saying about reaction time. Everyone moves in slooowww motion and says Noooooooooo. Then the flurry of activity begins as you go into clean-up mode.
