A happy boy and the storm warrior

We have had such gorgeous weather here lately so we had plenty of opportunity to work on the pool. You know what that means don't you? That's right Duke is a happy boy because he got to take his first dip and float of the season on Saturday.

Of course this means I will no longer have any piece while we are out on the deck because he will be constantly barking to either get on a raft or get pulled back in.

As for the storm warrior, that would be me. You see after Duke had his float I decided it was time to vacuum the car and wash it. By the time I began washing it was looking like rain but I was determined to finish. I was about half way through and the wind kicked up and I could see a wall of rain approaching. Fearlessly I turned and aimed my trusty garden hose directly at the approaching storm and gave it all I had. Though the sound of laughter could be heard from behind me on the deck I stood my ground. I continued to shoot the storm in between soaping and rinsing the car. I was able to hold the storm off until my mission was accomplished and I could retreat to the safety of cover.
I kid you not, I really did that. I fought the rain storm with a hose and I won. Wade who normally rolls his eyes at me in sheer annoyance at my antics found it hysterically funny and I felt quite proud of myself.

He's a happy boy and a handsome boy - even wet! How adorable is the raft thing?!? There were 3 Westies at the park this weekend and no offense to their cuteness factors but the 3 of them together did not match Duke.

Storm warriors, storm chasers and storm troopers - I bet you'd win in that battle too! Great story. :)

Floating Duke makes a gorgeous picture. You are a storm warrior!! The easiest way to make it rain is to try to wash the car or mow the grass.

Look how cute Duke is!!! Today was the kind of day that I could have stood under the hose for a very long time!! Instead, I picked the shelter of my air conditioned house...tomorrow's supposed to be about the same!

Perhaps I should be treating you with a little more respect...

Those storms clouds did not want to mess with an irate and determined woman, LOL! And Duke sure does have the life, floating out in the pool!

No storm here this week-end, but our pups did get wet since they had baths yesterday... I love that they behave so well when bathed.

Duke looks in heaven on that float! How fun for him... :-))

I just have to say that Duke looks fantastic sitting on the float. He looks almost regal.

Congrats on battling the storm. Can you do anything about the heat?

Duke is too cute on the raft! That's awesome that you were able to beat the rain to finish your job. I can see myself doing the same thing. Once I get started with something like that, I'm determined to finish.

I laughed out loud at the storm warrior part. Well you won and that's all that counts.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

Wow,now that is one strong woman, Duke. She backed a storm off with the hose. The storm just knew you were serious. We are impressed. Have a great week.

I think you must have been in our area of Tennessee today... A big storm approached TWICE ---and even though I didn't point the hose at it, it missed us totally... Were you here with your hose??????? ha ha

Cute picture of Duke on the raft.... Love it.

Betsy
