Gloom, despair and tragedy on me

Deep dark depression, excessive misery.
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair and tragedy on me.

Why of why of all the things that I have remembered over the years does it have to be that little ditty I used to hear week after week watching episodes of Hee Haw with my mother?

Any way, yes, I did have a bit of bad luck yesterday. We were out and about and I lost my prescription glasses. I can make it without them for a while because honestly, I only wear them when I'm driving. Although my eyes are no longer 20/20 they aren't that horrible and the glasses help with seeing at a distance. I really could kick myself for losing them though. It has been several years since I've had my eyes checked but I wasn't planning on the expense of a new pair of glasses.

At least, if nothing else, I have a sweet pup who is willing to do anything for a treat.

I think Duke looks pretty cute in my readers. He told me to stop the laughing and hand over the treats. He's such a good sport.

Duke needs several pairs now to become his new studious self!!! Are you going to the eye doctor or will you just buy a pair of reading glasses?

Duke looks very smart with glasses ;)
It's a pain to loose your glasses.

Duke looks quite studious in his glasses! Yikes Ann! I sure do hope you find your glasses!! They are expensive these days. Perhaps they slipped under or between the seats??

Ahhhh....your Duke is adorable in those specs, and will hopefully cheer you up a bit! I lose my glasses on a continual basis, so I know how annoying it can be. Hopefully you'll find them soon. Or maybe if you ask Duke, he'll be able to help you search for them. Have a lovely weekend, with or without your glasses. - June in Ireland

OK ~ sadly ~ I remember Hee Haw. But I was just a wee young thing when it was on. ;)

Wishing you and Duke a happy Saturday!

He's cute, but those frames are all wrong for Duke. Perhaps some darker ones? LOL

He looks so pensive and intelligent wearing those glasses!

Oh my, the things that poor Duke has to endure for a few lousy treats! LOL! I'm so sorry that you lost your prescription glasses. Perhaps they will turn up later! If you know what stores you went to, perhaps you could call the management and see if the glasses get turned in to their lost and found box.

DH lost his reading glasses yesterday, somewhere in the house. We can't find them anywhere. I'm beginning to believe that they fell off of his shirt when he was collecting and taking out the trash.

That is too bad about losing the glasses. Duke you do look really terrific in the reading glasses. So are you reading a book? Have a great weekend.

haha. Duke looks too funny with the glasses on ;-)
I live in fear each day of losing my glasses, because I am totally dependent on them!

if i lost mine, i would be almost blind, i can't see anything without them, that is up close, medium or distance. the reason i don't lose mine is they never come off, i put them on at rise up time and take them off before i go to sleep. oh no on the new glasses, they are so expensive. and a doc visit to for the prescription. how am i doing inthe doom and despair dept? duke look great in his readers.

Im sorry you lost your glasses..I know what that feels like. I did the same things a few years back.
Can you give Duke the biggest hug for me please?!
Have a great weekend!

My biggest fear is losing/breaking my glasses. I've done both. I am pretty much blind without my glasses so it's a complete nightmare being without them.

And they are very expensive to replace.

Oh, he looks great in those glasses :)
I'm sorry to hear about you losing your glasses. I know what you mean about the expense. I've been holding off for some time now in getting a new pair, because they are just so darn expensive!

Oh My! How I love that cute little pooch. I'd love to kiss him on his little black nose. When I first read the title of this post it scared me. I thought something bad had happened to Duke. I'm glad it was just your glasses, but sorry you lost them. You know what I mean.

First off, thanks for telling me where to look for the fountain/with flame ----I had to go and get a Rx filled today, and made sure I searched their shelves. But to no avail...I will keep looking for one tho. And....

DUKE...you're such a doll. And don't you look studious in your readers. Good sport indeed. Oh, and I can say..."been there, done that" with my eye glasses too. And we both have to have them to wear while driving. I lost mine so many times, I finally broke down and became the 'old lady' that I am in years...I bought me an eye-glass chain. Now all I have to do is remember to flip them over my shoulder when we dine out. Otherwise, I put 'em on to drive home, and look through spaghetti sauce.

Have you retraced yesterdays steps. Maybe someone handed them into a shop. Maybe Duke can sniff them out. He might even see them with his glasses on!

What a great photo of Duke! He is too cute, Ann.

That is too bad about your glasses. Whenever I see my kids touching mine I kind of freak; I have no desire to shell out the dough for a new pair.

So sorry to hear about your glasses. It's always frustrating when something like that happens. Duke is still adorable as always.

Duke has much more patience than my Isabella. She would have shaken off the glasses and tried to eat them, and still begged for a treat.

When you get your new prescription be sure to check out Zinnioptical.com. You won't be sorry!!!

Oh my, Duke is adorable in those glasses! He reminds me of a cartoon with a little kid in big glasses that of course now I can't remember the name of. Duke is much cuter though! Sorry you lost your glasses!

I got a great deal on an Ott light today and thought of you! I went to Joann's and they had an Ott light that is a desk lamp but is also removable as a clip light on sale for $8.97 from $69.99! I bought two just because it was such a great deal! I can always sell one on eBay and make money on the deal! :) Yay for clearance deals!

Glad you finally found them and Duke look adorable in them! I tell you I have to wear my glasses everywhere except for up close work - so I don't lose them all that much! I would be really sad!!!!

Duke looks so intelligent and sophisticated. I wish he would tell Bubba that it's OK to get your picture taken.

Sorry you lost your glasses...but I'm glad you can see pretty good without them. I'd be walking into walls if I lost mine!

Duke looks so studious!

Doesn't it make you wonder what they see? I wonder if he could see the treat better or if his world just looked warped to him. Duke's such a good sport. Good boy! :)

Duke is so cute in your readers. I wear my glasses when I'm awake. If I don't I can't see anything.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)
