Going to the chapel

And we're gonna get married.
Well it wasn't actually a chapel it was more like the local park but we did go to a wedding on Saturday. The wedding was scheduled for 11:00 am and at 10 it was raining. This was supposed to be an outside wedding. Luck was with the bride and groom though and the skies cleared and made way for a beautiful day.
I wasn't asked to take pictures but you know me, I can't pass up an opportunity to snap some shots. They didn't have a professional photographer there so I felt perfectly comfortable standing next to the girl who was snapping away with her point and shoot. It was fun for me and the couple will get a few extra shots from their day.
I'm going to show you a few of my favorites today and then a few more on Thursday.
I started with the bow on the chairs while we were waiting for everything to begin. After all they had raindrops on them and I can't resist raindrops.

A close crop of the bride being escorted by her father. I was pleased that you could see the smile on her face through the veil.

During the ceremony

And of course the kiss. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a shot without the truck in the background. Across the street from the wedding there was a medieval joust going on and people were parked all along the road.

I took the above shot, cropped in close, copied part of the right hand side of the picture and pasted it on the left. Then I faded out the edges and lowered the saturation. Not great but at least there is no distracting truck in the background

Tomorrow I will hopefully have sometime appropriately red white and blue for the day and then Thursday it's more wedding.

I think your two edited shots are wonderful and I'm sure the couple are going to love them....I have a few less than desirable wedding photos and I wish I was capable of this sort of thing.

Glad the weather cleared up in time for the ceremony....did you all have damp bottoms from those chairs??

I'm sure they will love to have that last photo in particular - a background "issue" very cleverly solved. Go Ann! ;o)

Can you replace the truck with some greenery? Or Duke? I'd like to see some creative backgrounds, Ann! ;)

You did a great job on the photos. I'm sure the bride would be very happy to see those.

Very nice shots. The last one I shot I had to laugh that with any photographers eye contact sometimes went in different directions.
