Stuck

Whenever I find something I like doing I tend to get stuck and only do that one thing until I'm totally sick of doing it. Right now I'm stuck on using the impressionist brush in photoshop elements. Every picture gets turned into a painting. I'm even taking pictures thinking "Oh that will make a nice painting" I wonder if this could be considered a type of obsessive compulsive behavior.
Oh well, doesn't matter because I'm not looking for a cure.
When I was at the beach last Sunday I spotted a couple sitting on the dock and I snapped their picture.
Maybe I should have asked their permission but once I painted over them would anyone really be able to identify them?  I suppose if they were to see it they might know it was them. I really don't think they read my blog though. Oh my, it just occurred to me that maybe this was a secret rendezvous and maybe one of their spouses reads my blog and I have just let the cat out of the bag. Nah! That wouldn't happen. Or would it?

That's amazing, Ann - I'm 'stuck' in a similar groove right now with the Palette Knife and Posterize filters!

There's an old saying that really IS true...what they don't know won't hurt 'em. They don't know....and you aren't hurting them

GREAT painting!!!

Oh, and Duke, I love his "Oh Say Can You See My Eyes If You Can". I too love playing with the curvy text element in my software program. It's addictive. And so is Duke....I'm addicted to his charm.

That is not his wife! I know for a certain fact that his wife only ever appears in Renaissance paintings!

This photo looks really great with the impressionist effect!
I'm always a bit shy about taking pics with strangers in them, I usually focus on the birds instead ;-)

I wonder if Photoshop Elements was the secret to Norman Rockwell's success?

because you are stuck on that impressionist brush, i have tried several times and mine look like dirt gone mad, or someone on drugs dabbed the photo. just can't make it look right. to funny on the secret rendezvous... i have in my folders some where, 2 on a beach and 2 on a bench, if i can find them maybe i will try that darn brush again.

This is truly lovely Ann - and I bet they would have loved to have a copy of your work.

Now .. .. did I miss Duke in the painted over mode? Maybe a family photo would be nice but don't think it would fit in the 'man cave' .. hahaha

Enjoy - and have fun,
Katie

As much as I am not a fan of messing with photos - this is an effect I can truly like - since I am such a huge fan of impressionism - I think some scenes are better for that effect than others. This photo I'm sure is best seen the way you have done it up...

I have not the patience for such things - nor, to be honest, do I understand the techniques - layers, vectors yadda yadda yadda - all incomprehensible to me and I've been dabbing at it, on and off, for years - I had Corel Paintshop (or some such named Corel program) on my PC - I just wish Corel would make a similar program for MAC's - they said they would but haven't. So it's been at least 6 years since I've played with photos to any great extent. I have had Elements for MAC for a few years but I find it very user-unfriendly.

But then - I'm just not a photo-taking person even with photography being my favorite art form. Thankfully so many others are and all the original art work I have purchased in the last few years have been photographs.

Uh oh, did you just create a scandal? LOL! At least they'll enjoy their beautiful photo! :)

Nicely done, and I'm guessing they belong to each other so there's no problem. But! If they don't belong to each other you could get caught in the cross hairs. Or not.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

We are going to say that those two belong together or they wouldn't have had their picture taken. Great photo with the help of Photoshop. Take care.

Great shot, and great edits! It looks like a watercolor painting. Sometimes I will make up stories in my head while people watching. It makes time pass quickly.

I wonder what people think of Brian and me when we meet for hiking when we're both on days. We arrive separately, meet up, kiss hello, then start our hike. After we're done, we kiss goodbye and hop in our individual vehicles and drive off. Who would ever know that we are both heading back to our home together.

Oh well, keep them wondering...

Ann, you're so funny. I thought only my mom thought that way.

I like the painting option...it gives the photo a nice loose look. Like a pretty watercolor. I sure wish I had your patience for playing around with all the editing.

I get stuck too...but if your enjoying yourself...it is a good kind of stuck.

That is lovely! When folks are out in public and you can't recognize their faces. So I wouldn't worry about it in the slightest.

It's so soft looking which makes it even more romantic.:)
