Deck the halls

Today Amanda is planning on coming over after she gets out of work and we are going to begin the task of decorating. She asked me the other day if I was just going to put up the tree or if I was going to get out the other decorations too. Over the years I have collected far too many Christmas decorations and I've come to dread pulling it all out each year. Yes I will pull out the favorites but most of it will stay in the boxes.

Aside from that there is the usual weekend errands, a little cleaning, a little laundry and hopefully some crafting.

I forgot to mention that I made the decision yesterday to no longer allow anonymous comments. None of annoying spam comments were getting through to the blog but when I opened my dashboard 2 days in a row to find over 30 comments awaiting moderation (all anonymous spam) I figured enough is enough.

Duke looks adorable and you are right in not allowing anonymous comments. These days spammers even comment under blogger profiles with sneaky links

i feel the same way, i had 8 boxes of decorations, i brought it down to 4 when i retired 6 years ago, last year i used 2 boxes, this year i went with the top box only... less each year.
and i just removed the anonymous from mine because they go to spam but they come into my email.I get up and email is full of things i have to delete.

He was posing with the hat on but I wondered how long that lasted.Lily has a hoodie or two but won't keep the hat on even in real cold weather.

Amen, sister. I had to stop anonymous comments too--hate that spam! And I would like to stop putting out all that Christmas crap--but my kids still love it all. Maybe I should have THEM put it out and then away at the end of the holidays!! ;) Ugh. Hate that job.

Duke is ADORABLE in his hoodie sweater. I think you can just leave him out all holiday season dressed like that and that would suffice.

What an adorable photo of Duke!! Have fun decorating today! The first day of December seems an appropriate time to start decorating. :) We may actually start this weekend as well.
Enjoy!

I am inundated with anonymous comments too Ann. Can you tell me what you are doing to stop yours? How do you stop anonymous comments. They are driving me crazy!

Eventually I will send hubby to the storage unit to get out our Peanuts Christmas tree - finding a place to put it will be a challenge - small as it is. And that's it for holiday decorating for me! I'm sure your house will be a visual wonderland...

I have the same issue. I used to pull box after box after box out and spend several days getting the decorating done. Now it's three boxes and I can decorate the tree in one day. I can so relate.

I turned off the anonymous comments off a long time ago for the same reason. I don't get too much spam anymore. I can relate to this decision too.

Duke is adorable. Okay tell him handsome, not adorable. He's a man after all.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

Oh Duke, you look so good all decorated. Love your Santa hat.
Sounds like a fun day around your house Duke. Hope they don't put you to work. Take care.

Duke is gorgeous. If that's not okay with him then we will just say he is very dashing!!

I use to have the spam problem at The Painted Veil. All of mine were usually in some strange foreign language.

But I don't get many visitors yet so I don't have to worry about spam. But I can relate because I have been there before!

You inspired me with your Christmas theme and I got LJ to come in and spruce me up over there a little too.

I can't do anything at home yet because my husband piled a ton of stuff including an entire bed in front of my storage closet.

I am hoping to do some decorating next week. If my daughter and I can't get the decorations out we won't have our tree up until Christmas week.

Happy weekend to you and Duke!

I feel the same way about the many boxes of Christmas decorations I've accumulated over the years. I think I want a simpler look this year. We'll see. I'm hoping to get the decorating done this weekend.

Spam stinks. Period. Good for you on whatever you do to control it.

Duke! You are adorable! I fall in love with you a little bit more every time your mommy shows you in poses like this. Merry Christmas buddy!

PS. Nonni and Bentley say, "Thanks a lot. Now mom is probably going to dress us up too." :)
