The smell of pine

Let me start by saying that Wade is not real big on Christmas. He doesn't get in to all the gift buying and decorating. That's why I was so surprised on Sunday when he wanted to go out and buy a tree for the man cave. He said that I had my fake tree in the living room and he wanted a REAL tree for the cave.
Off we went to a local tree farmer to pick one out.
It's not real tall, it's not real big, it's just the right size and it smells wonderful. Now if I would have left it up to him it would have stood there as is because he said he just wanted it for the scent. Silly man. I dug out some decorations and lights and now we're both happy

I took one look at this and KNEW that he was not the one who decorated it.

Sweet....I bet it fills the room with such a wonderful fragrance. You decorated it beautifully....AND, Ann, LOVE the bonus gift you purchased. You're gonna be using it a lot, I'm sure.

Greetings Ann!!!

Just popping in this morning to send along my wishes to you and yours...that you have a very happy holiday season.

Will see you again in 2013, when I return to blogging after my hiatus, enjoying the company of my sister from Colorado. I haven't seen her in nearly 10 years. This will be a treat.

Happy Holidays...love Anni

and the best part of a real tree is when you take it down gathering all the fallen pine needles and making little pine bags - actually my mother would make rather larger pine bags and these would be our toys - perhaps the original version of a hacky sack? They smelled good for a long time...(a new little craft for you to do??)

I love a real tree--we get one too. Although I don't notice the fragrance--I just end up lighting a balsam candle. Don't tell Wade that you can get that Christmas fragrance without having to get the tree. :)

i love the scent to, so we dumpster dive at home depot and they throw out the limbs that break off the trees in transport. they smell divine and are free.the tree is perfect and beautiful and is the kid mother aways got when we were growing up. i can smell it down here.

The tree looks perfect! How fun that he wanted one for his space. I wonder if he will want to keep it up for months since it fits in so well.

You just need to plant a few trees in his man cave. Bwahahahahahaha. I get it and it has nothing to do with Christmas.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

Hey Wade is really getting into the spirit this year. I think that is great.

I'm impressed that he wanted a tree for his Mancave! He must love it down there! Our real tree is still sitting with just five ornaments on it now - no lights or anything else. Wanna come help me decorate it?

That fresh tree smell is the best! How cool is it that you have 2 trees now!? I bet it made the man cave even cozier.

Very nice.... Sounds like Wade is thrilled with his man-cave. The tree looks so pretty--and I'll bet it does smell good. Since we have a 'fake' tree, I have to use evergreen candles in order to enjoy the smell... (It's still not the same though... ha)

Hugs,
Betsy

I love that he wanted a tree for his man cave! You have to have ornaments and lights though! Very pretty! :)

How sweet! It is beautiful, and I'm sure that it still smells great, too. :)

I'm tempted to get a real tree just for the scent....but a Yankee candle is so much easier to clean up!
