For lack of something better

I haven't got much of anything to show you or tell you today so I thought I would talk about a few things on my kindle.

A book I recently finished

I can't really say that this was the absolute best book I've ever read but I enjoyed it because of the characters that had me laughing out loud  several times throughout the book.

On the other hand there was this book

In my opinion it wasn't even worth keeping on my kindle. It starts right off with an overly descriptive and gruesome murder. A good majority of the books I read are murder mysteries but this one I just couldn't stomach. Less than a dozen pages in you meet the two female police detectives, one is obviously gay and the conversation between the two of them is far too pornographic in my opinion. I had to close this one.

Finally we have an app that I have been using to track what I've been eating. It's called Lose It.

I put in what I eat and it tracks my calories, fat, carbs and protein. It also tells me throughout the day how many more calories I can eat.

You can also track your exercise as well.  So far this is working pretty well for me. It keeps me from cheating and it's nice to know how much I really am eating.

That's a cool app -- I used Fitness Pal for awhile until I got a Fitbit for Christmas. :)

I've given up on a few books here and there. Thankfully, they are usually from the library or downloaded as free. And that sounds like a cool app!

Every once in a while there's a book I can't take. There are probably many more now that self-pub is here to stay. Thanks for the heads up about that one.

I don't understand how those food trackers work - while I know how many calories are in my bagel, I don't know much cream cheese I put on it - not a lot but...I'm sure the app has an app for that!

Looks like we read the same kind of murder mysteries. Love them too, but every once in a while I end up with one I just can't read.

How did Duke's trip turn out?

Have a fabulous weekend. My best to Duke. :)

Don't you love your reader? I wonder how I ever got along without my Nexus. I don't read too many books but I love my magazines on it and I love my apps. I think I have the lose it one and I should actually put it to use.

I like to laugh so would probably enjoy the first book you mentioned. Nice app, sounds similar to one I use called fit day.

That app sounds like it's really helping you along with your goals!! That's good.

Oh ya, I'd be closing that book and deleting it if it's that bad!!

I am quite sure that my books on the Amazon Kindle platform could inspire you to write an even worse review.
