That's just not right

I do all the ordering for the bakery department at work. Being on a diet, I jumped on a deal for some fat free muffins in two different flavors.
There was apple and chocolate. The picture is horrible since I took it with my phone but these are nice size muffins and like I said fat free. The apple ones are only 120 calories per serving.

Here's the thing. A serving size is HALF a muffin. Seriously? You think I'm going to stop at half a muffin?

Someone has a sick sense of humor. Making a serving size only 1/2 the muffin is just plain mean.

It is difficult for me to eat by seeing the calories of the food. But normally they tell to do so to keep the body fit.:)

Yup - ya totally have to read the 'fine print' when it comes to nutricional labels. 1/2 a muffin indeed...as if!

and on the news last week, the govt has made a new FDA ruling that the info has to be not by the serving but by the whole thing... so in a few weeks it will say 240.... they used a muffin as an example

Yup. It's really sneaky how a lot of products make you think they will save you calories, when they really just cut the portion size.

Scrumptious muffins! They should make smaller sized ones at 120 calories then I'd happily indulge!

Its like the diabetic serving for peanuts. 3-5,who would stop there.I hear you can put applesauce instead of oil, but never have tried it.

Oh don't get me started on that nutrition label on foods these days. They're a hoot...and ALL KINDS OF WRONG!! Who in their right mind would stop at ONE cookie also? You've got to be kiddin' me.

I would eat two of these and not bat an eye. Are they good?

Have a fabulous day. My best to Duke. ♥♥♥

Considering how awful most fat free foods taste 1/2 a muffin may be more than enough!

I agree! I do not know any woman that could stop at half a muffin, or maybe I don't even want to know any woman that would stop at half a muffin. It's just not right, LOL.
Have a happy day and keep smiling.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

HA HA---that's how they get us!!!!! The serving size is always smaller than we hope... But--1/2 a muffin???? Gads! I'd probably rather not have any at all. Oh Well...

Fat free muffins aren't bad at all. I actually have a couple recipes for them and they are delicious!

With a name like Isabella's they have to be good! :) Isn't that 1/2 a muffin thing what the First lady is working on changing with the new nutritional labels? I thought it was something like that so manufacturers give the information for a true serving, not a faux one to make it sound healthier than it is.

According to a recent new report, all food labels will soon have to list the particulars for a realistic portion.

I do not like how "they" fool us with the teeny serving sizes. The muffins look good!
