Birthday lunch

I suppose this is old news but pretend like I didn't take so much time off and this just happened. Or not.
Any way, Amanda (my daughter) took me out for a birthday lunch the day after my birthday. She even let me go in the craft store AND Joann Fabric.

We ended up going to Cheddars for lunch. It's the first time I've ever been there and I liked it. What made me happy was that they had a section on their menu of light meals and gave the calorie count for each entree. Very helpful when you're keeping track of those sorts of things.

I took a picture while we were waiting for our food. I added a texture to this one and I really like the way it looked.

This is what I ordered. It was called Sweet heat chicken and shrimp. I could feel the heat by the end of my meal but it was delicious. Now if you are big on hot foods this may not have been too spicy for you but a spicier flavor is rather new to me

I also had a picture of what Amanda ordered but since I don't know what it actually was I decided not to post it.

What an interesting thing to see the calories near the items in a menu card. It helps us lot to select the food!

What could be nicer than lunch with your daughter and going to the fabric store! Sounds like you had a really nice day out :)

Sounds like a fun outing for your birthday! Happy Birthday!

I love that they have new menus that have healthier options. I especially like vegan and gluten free options. That looks REALLY good!

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who takes pictures of condiments! Love the texture you used on your shot.
I got some chicken tortilla soup when we went out to dinner with Penelope....it was hot, hot, hot!!! I was not a fan!
So glad you and Amanda got to have some mother/daughter time...spending time with my girls is one of my favorite things to do!

Sounds like you and your daughter had a good celebration. We like Cheddars --but I'm not MUCH into spicy food anymore... Used to like it when I was younger!!!!

Your dinner looks good though.

Have a great day. We are busy working in the yard. After the weeding, we are now mulching... Oh how I love spring.
Hugs,
Betsy

Memory loss and not being able to recall what she had [or at least the name of the dish served] is all part of having more birthdays every blessed year.

Kidding of course.

What you ordered looks delicious. We have a cheddars here, but the service seems to leave a lot to be desired. Slow, and luke warm food when we DO get served. But none the less, the food IS good. If you ask them to take it back and reheat it for you.

Your lunch looks really good and healthy too. It's easy to eat out if you make good choices. You certainly did that. Love the photograph. Great job.

Have a fabulous day. My best to Duke. ♥♥♥
