About the weekend.

Are you all wondering about how we did at the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival?

This was while we were working on getting everything set up

Saturday was pretty cold and there was a rather strong wind blowing through the building all day long. A very small crowd was there and even though I did sell some stuff it wasn't much.

Sunday the weather was much better but the attendance was worse. I wouldn't say it was a total waste though, it gave me something to do and I met some new people.

A few new items I made for this show.
These scarecrows are made from 5 gallon paint sticks. I had three of these priced at $6 and didn't sell a single one. I'm planning on making some snowmen like this as well.

This item was made from leftover deck wood. The word "FALL" was stenciled on using a technique I learned from Beverly at Eclectic Red Barn. Sorry but I don't have the link to the exact post for that. The candle is a battery operated one that I grunged up with mod podge and cinnamon. This didn't sell either.

This item priced at $7 did sell though. It was a brown wood rocking chair that I had purchased at a thrift store. It was roughly 7" high. I painted it black, glued on some spanish moss, added a fall pick and some plastic pumpkins

So what was the big seller of the day? It was my 25 cent marble magnets.

I cannot believe no one bought the paint sticks craft. They are SO cute!! I know they would have sold if the weather had been better the first day!

Your items are so charming and well crafted! I love how the booth was set up. I'm sorry the show wasn't well attended. You really should consider selling on Etsy :)

Those paint stick scarecrows are adorable!
Hubs used to do craft shows - and sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to sales!

Love those paint stick scarecrow guys! So reasonably priced too! Wish I could've visited!

I'm surprised, have you done other shows with fall/Halloween themed items? Of course, it doesn't help if there aren't a lot of people. I like your idea of changing the paint stick scarecrows for winter into snowmen.

Hugs,
Antonella :-)

Well, those people certainly had very poor tastes!

Love the scarecrows...and I can't wait to see how you do it all for snowmen....that means you're gonna have another craft show for the festive season near Christmas.

That rocking chair is super.

i am thinking the cold weather and not many people were the reason for low sales. all the items look good to me. have we seen the marble magnets? i don't remember them.

Craft shows are tough because there are so many factors which prompt or prevent folks to buy. Weather, attendance, the other crafter's wares, etc. I like your little scarecrows! And your prices are right--weird that you didn't do better.

Hard to tell what people like sometimes. A friend set up her pie stand for 2 daze and was sold out the first day. Many ordered for the holidays. Her quick breads took 2 daze to go.

Sigh- I'm sorry for you... and this is why I can't get excited about doing craft shows.

I wish it could have been better for you! At least you got some sales, despite the thin crowd. And you never know what people will buy!

What's with those people not buying those adorable items? I love the Fall candle! Do I spot another angel doll? Ay yi yi!

I'm sorry the fair didn't go as well as you had hoped, but like you said you met some people and had a nice weekend.

Have a fabulous day honey. Back to work after four days off. UGH! ♥♥♥

Those little rocking chairs are so versatile. You know I don't do random decorating but one of those chairs painted white with colorful seasonal 'dolls' would be a winner - it would certainly tempt me.

The scarecrow sticks have the cutest faces!

My Goodness... Sorry you didn't sell any of those adorable scarecrows... I don't know about your area --but here, there are SO many craft shows (most every weekend in Fall) --and that is probably why some people don't sell much... ??????? I'm sure it gets discouraging. So sorry....

Hugs,
Betsy

It sounds like you had a fun time. It's always nice to meet like minded people. I am shocked that the scarecrow sticks didn't sell. They are adorable! You never know what the hot item is for year. You could sell all of them next year.

Your display looks great and festive!

Just came across your blog and absolutely love your creations. So creative and inspiring! I especially love the scarecrows. Sooo clever!

I look forward to seeing more of your lovely items!!

Those scarecrows were really cute, I can't understand why they didn't sell because that was a reasonable price for them. It's hard sometimes to understand what does/doesn't sell at craft shows.

Well at first glance I'd say you are way underpricing your beautiful creations Ann and I can't believe no one snapped them up! Sorry the weather was uncooperative and the visitors few, your table looked great!

The scarecrows are so cute! And I LOVE the chair too!

Love your creations Ann, and I'm sorry the craft show wasn't better for you. A friend of mine did a show a couple weeks ago, and she had similar results.
