The Documented Life Project

I really seem to be dragging my feet on these this month.  I wasn't getting any inspiration of any kind on this one and finally I just made myself start to see what would happen.

April 18
Art Challenge:  Gelli Plate
Journal Prompt:  A lot on my Plate

I did use the gelli plate for the original background but I really didn't like the way it looked so I covered it up . I still had no idea where to go with this. Finally I figured, when I have a lot on my plate I don't know if I'm coming or going so that is what all the arrows are for. I still don't feel quite satisfied with this page but it was time to call it done and move on.

Something to crow about

I don't know if it's really worth crowing about or not but it's all I have for a blog post today. The well is running dry for ideas lately

Just another doodle today along with the colored version

Project 365 Week 16

4/19 Every girl should have her very own bowl of chocolate. This is the chocolate donut  icing that sits in a warming bowl on my bakery table at work

4/20 Finished another journal page.

4/21 Life is like a box of chocolates. This is the box that Wade bought me for Easter.

4/22 Pretty lame picture of the day but I was tired and like my kindle I was in need of some recharging

4/23 Those little white dots are the snow coming down. The car was sitting still when I took that picture.

4/24 This owl was on a bag of potatoes.

4/25 Hobby Lobby is right near Pet Smart and it just wouldn't be right to be that close and not go in.

The Gibbs Report

Yesterday my good friend Grace asked if I was going to the groomers soon. I would love to go and look all handsome again but my mom just keeps forgetting to make that call. Maybe you can all help me out and "hound" her a bit so she'll finally make the appointment.

Mom went out shopping yesterday. She went to a store called Pet Smart. I'm a smart pet so the store must be all about me. She brought home two things. One was a really fun toy that's kind of like a rope ring with a really cute froggy head on it. The other thing is kind of embarrassing. She bought me a belly band and she expects me to wear it in the house when I'm not in my play yard or my night time room. She says that it's to cut down on my addiction to pee mail. I LOVE pee mail. I do pee mail anywhere I can. I have even done pee mail on the couch. I don't know what the problem is.  I showed her though. She took me outside and forgot to take my belly band off and I did pee mail right in it. She had to wash it so I got to go the rest of the day without it. Now she says she's going to try and make some so I have extras. Oh the shame of it all.

Well I'm off to see what I can get in to. Have a wooftastic day.

Cross your t's and dot your i's

And while you're at it check your spelling too.

After reading over my post yesterday, Gibbs has decided that he needs to start editing before I publish them. He says that it will save me from future embarrassment.
Some of you may not have noticed but those of you who pay close attention to such things may have picked out my mistakes.

I'm going to use the excuse that I was tired when I wrote that post because when I read it the next day the errors nearly flew off the screen at me.

 I typed:
If that means getting a cute container from which to drink my water or tea than it's worth every scent I pay for it.

Than should have been then and scent should have cent.

As you can see from the picture Gibbs is not happy with me.

Cool Gear

When I have to drag myself to work every day I'll take whatever little thing I can to help make my day a little more cheery.

If that means getting a cute container from which to drink my water or tea than it's worth every scent I pay for it.

I found this one at the dollar store

I liked the cantrition facts on the side.

I also have a larger 16 oz size one with owls on it. I was drinking from it the one day and Wade asked me what kind of new drink that was. He thought it was a drink that came in a container like that. These came with a straw but I prefer to not use it because then I can't close it.

Yesterday and Today

Yesterday was our anniversary. Nine whole years so far.

I couldn't find a picture from our wedding so you get pretty flowers instead.

Today would have been my brother's 58th birthday. Happy Birthday in heaven Mike.

Tomorrow is Friday and I can't wait

Documented Life Project

I'm almost all caught up again with this. I have the current challenge to do by the end of the week. We'll see if I manage to squeeze it in or not.

April 11
Art Challenge:  Acrylics
Journal Prompt:  Cry Me a River

I really don't have much to say about this one. I think it sort of speaks for itself. I originally wanted to put a picture of a crying child in one corner and then the image I have in the other. I couldn't find an image I liked that was good enough quality to use.

Change repost

For today's post I went back to 4/21/12 and found the following post.

I'm not a huge fan of change. I will admit that a little change is good now and then but I'm talking things like a haircut, trading in your car, or even changing what you have sitting on your mantel.

What I don't like is when you get a heap of change dumped on you and your have to figure out what to do with it.

Project 365 week 15

4/12 tools of the trade. I got tired of always trying to reach the measuring cups that the deli girls throw up on a shelf so for a dollar I bought my own that were always within reach.

4/13 I was on my way home from running errands and a bird dropped a little gift all over my car. I was going to stop at the car wash but a big truck was blocking the entrance and I didn't see anyone around to move it. I decided it was a nice enough day I could just wash it myself at home. It was free, I got the inside vacuumed and Gibbs and I enjoyed the beautiful weather.

4/14 I hate seeing a sink full of dirty dishes after a long day of work. Days like this I wish I had a dishwasher.

4/15 I took a little stroll on my lunch break. There's a little stream that runs behind the store and I walked back to take a look and a few pictures.

4/16. Time to fill up.

4/17 Some days you just run in to a brick wall. Of course I didn't run in to it but I did take a picture of it.

4/18 Another beautiful day and it required a walk.

Number 2001

Today is really the Gibbs Report but I thought I would tell you that my mom posted her 2000th post yesterday. Who knew she would ever find that much to talk about since she started this blog back in October of 2008.

Well enough about her. I know you came her to see me.
I know this isn't the best picture but I was lucky enough to get mom off her big butt to take me for a walk I wasn't going to push my luck with asking for a professional type photo.

It was a beautiful morning for a walk. Do you know that you can actually double the distance you walk if you zig-zag back and forth across the sidewalk. Mom wouldn't try it. She insisted on walking a straight path. She's so boring.

It's supposed to rain today so chances are dad and I will be napping while mom goes to work. If you promise not to tell on me I'll let you in on a little secret. While dad naps I wander around the house by myself because he doesn't keep track of me like mom does. Let me tell you she's a real tyrant sometimes.

Well I hear a milk bone calling my name so you have a dog gone good day.

Statistics and Panoramic Views

This is day number 106 of the year 2015 and this is post number 106 for this year

This is the 15th week of the year and I have completed 14 weeks worth of pictures for project 365

There have been 14 Documented Life Project challenges and I have 13 completed and the 14th is in the process of being finished.

I would say that I've gotten off to a very good start for the year.

Now on to the panoramic view portion of today's post. I was playing around with the panoramic setting on my phone's camera. These are far from impressive but I found it interesting how they turned out.

In this one it looks like the yard comes to a point and is surrounded by the sidewalk. The yard goes straight across and the sidewalk actually ends roughly where the yard appears to come to the point.

The wires in this one look like they are arching up to me.

This probably isn't something I'll use a whole lot of on my phone unless I come across some seriously awesome landscape but I was bored so I was checking it out.

Documented Life Project

I managed to complete 2 challenge pages last weekend and this is the second one.

April 4
Art Challenge:  Watercolors
Journal Prompt:  It's Water Under the Bridge

I know this resembles a child's drawing of a house but it's actually my version of a covered bridge. I've never claimed to be an artist and this proves it. Any way. The center (dark blue) part of this was done on watercolor paper and then glued down to the main page. I'm thinking that I don't fully understand how to use watercolors but right or wrong I had fun.  The outside edge of the page was done using watercolor colored pencils. Those are actually pretty cool. I just colored the page with the pencils and then took a damp sponge to blend them.

I finished it off with markers to add the swirly type border around the center picture which I then outlined with a black sharpie. I added the text along the bottom with a marker and randomly drew little circles around which were my version of bubbles in the water. If you're wondering what the two green spots are on either side, those were bloopers that I attempted to cover up but they still managed to shine through to say "Look at me".

Catching up a bit on the Documented Life Project

Saturday aside from all the ambition I had for cleaning I also did some catching up on my art journal project. Another new challenge was posted on Saturday bringing the total that I needed to do to 3. It was time to get busy.

March 28
Art Challenge:  Make a Custom Element
Journal Prompt:  "Ride the energy of your own unique spirit." - Gabrielle Roth

I really didn't know what to do for this one so I decided just to go for it and see what happened. The swirl in the middle of the page sort of looked like a wave to me. I figured the energy of my unique spirit might at well ride a wave. I added the anchors to keep me from drifting too far off.

Well it's back to work today and as much as I really hate to go at least I had an amazingly beautiful day off yesterday.

Project 365 week 14

Amazingly I'm still plugging along with this. I admit that some days my pictures are very and I do mean VERY lame but it's a picture and that's all it needs to be to qualify.

This may be hard to follow along today because in my haste to finish the collage I neglected to move the pictures into their proper order. OOPS!!!!

4/5 (top left) Easter Sunday was rainy and gloomy but it was a nice quiet relaxing day and I didn't have to go to work. I did have to burn a vacation day to have the day off though

4/6 (top right) Our trip to Hermitage Pa and a stop at Kraynaks

4/7 (bottom far right) The first spring that the bird bath hasn't fallen over. Last fall We put some patio pavers underneath in hopes of keeping it standing. Looks like it worked.

4/8 (top middle) The life water truck was sitting in the parking lot when I was leaving work. I was tired and saw my chances of getting a picture dwindling down so I snapped the van.

4/9 (bottom far left) Standing at the time clock in the morning I can't explain what possessed me to take pictures of the brooms standing in the corner but there they are

4/10 (bottom middle left) a waiting behind a school bus shot. It was nice to see the grass getting greener

4/11 (bottom middle right) a really bad picture but take my word for it, there is a robin in those branches

The Gibbs Report

Happy Sunday blogging peeps. I bet you are really excited to see me two days in a row. I know I'm wagging my whole body over it.

My mom made me this fancy schmancy high falootin edited picture to use for today's post. I don't think it's any better than the original one, I'm still cute no matter what.

Just so you know that things are being done right here. I am currently standing watch over my mom's desk to make sure that she isn't typing anything that I didn't woof about.  For some reason she says that I am making it difficult for her to type when I am laying on her desk. I tried to help her type and she made some funny noise that I can't even begin to repeat.

Yesterday after I let mom sleep in and then have her coffee we had tons of fun cleaning. I was with her every step of the way and we did a really good job. She did make me go to the man cave when she mopped the floor though. I don't know why because it's really fun to run real fast across a wet floor. You kind of slip and slide all over. You should try it some time.

That just about covers everything I have to woof about today. Have a tail waggin' kind of day

I'm just that nice

Hi blogger peeps. Remember me? It's been a while since I've done a post since Easter took my day last week.

Here I'm showing you my sad face. I'm not really sad but this is a recreation so I can tell you a story about why this post is so late today.

Last night after my food dish was all cleaned up mom and I went to the couch to watch tv. She slept and I played with her shoes until I got bored. When she finally woke up I thought we were going to play but she went to bed and I went to my wire box bed. I won't go in there myself but once I'm in I don't make a fuss any more. Any way since I knew mom was really tired I let her sleep in this morning. I waited patiently until she woke up. After attending to my outside business I told her I needed to dictate a post and here I am.
Have a puptastic day my friends.

Road Trip

On Monday I took a little road trip with my friend Debbie. It wasn't very far but it was fun. We went to Hermitage Pennsylvania

I guess our main objective was craft shopping but we were planning on checking out some other shops too.

We were a bit early so we went to a place called Kraynaks.  I've heard about this place for years but have never gone. At Christmas time they are very famous for their amazing Christmas displays. I didn't realize they also did Easter displays so I had the good fortune to see those.

This one was absolutely beautiful

This one had a Wizard of Oz theme.

There were several others with various themes.

They were all simply amazing and I can't imagine how much work goes in to these.  Now I need to take another trip back to see the Christmas display.

How do you do...odle

Like I said yesterday I had one more doodle that I colored and had ready to post. Good thing too because after I got home from work on Tuesday I was just too whooped to come up with anything new.

My little bird brain told me to doodle a bird house....or two

Now that I think about it I should have doodled a bird. Oh well, maybe another time

I went on a little road trip Monday with a friend and have some pictures to show you from that. Hopefully I'll get my butt in gear and have them ready for tomorrow.

Double Duty Doodle

Doodles are so much more than a little picture drawn on paper. I'm calling them double duty but actually I think they may be double double duty.

First there is the fun of drawing them. (The darker lines in this one were done in Photoshop for editing purposes)

Once drawn they become the subject of a photo shoot.

Their next duty is to become play time in photoshop elements where they become digital art.

And finally they become blog material so that I don't have to say I have nothing to blog about. Better yet since I did two doodles I have a post for tomorrow too.

Project 365 week 13

3/29 Come home after a long day of work and what do I get? Gibbs gave me the laser eyes. I think he was trying to play mind control games.

3/30 BBQ Ribs in the crockpot.

3/31 Not a very good picture but it was snowing when I left for work in the morning.

4/1 A pretzel rod for an after work snack

4/2 A beautiful day so I took my kindle, my yogurt and went out to sit in my car at lunch time

4/3 Wade and I went to a local diner for a fish dinner. The food is ok there but the prices are crazy high

4/4 What's Easter without colored eggs. I only did 6 and I only used 2 colors, blue and yellow but mixed them on one for green

Happy Easter

1 Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!
2 Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!
3 But the pains which he endured, Alleluia!
our salvation have procured. Alleluia!
Now above the sky he's King, Alleluia!
where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!
4 Sing we to our God above, Alleluia!
praise eternal as God's love. Alleluia!
Praise our God, ye heavenly host, Alleluia!
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia!

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter

The Documented Life Project

Wow, I've really gotten myself behind with this thing. I should be showing you the March 28th challenge page and I'm only on the March 21st page.

Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to catch myself up with this and some other things.

March Theme
Making Your Mark (Doodles & Mark Making)
March 21
Art Challenge:  As a Focal Point
Journal Prompt:  Coming into Focus

The flowers are my focal point and for the journaling I chose several quotes relating to "focus" It seems rather funny that I had such a hard time focusing on getting this done.

Just a hint of Easter

For years I used to decorate the entire house for every holiday there is. These days not so much. I did manage to take the snowmen off of the dining room table and replace them with some Easter things.

These are the only Easter decorations you'll see in my house this year. Less to put away works for me.

I'm selling out.

That's it, I've had it. Enough is enough. A person can only take so much before they are pushed over the edge. I've reached that point and it's either him or me.

With that I have decided to find a new home for Gibbs. He can go pee on someone else's floors.

If you or anyone you know may be interested in adopting a cute but very disobedient pup he is...

oh and by the way...

April Fools!!!

Gotcha :)
