Happy Memorial Day

And I'm proud to be an American,

where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

Day is done, gone the sun

From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky

All is well, safely rest
God is nigh.

Fading light dims the sight

And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
From afar, drawing near
Falls the night.

Thanks and praise for our days

Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky
As we go, this we know

God is nigh.

nice post, I thought you were at work today.I walked into a room yesterday and licked my finger asking who stuck their finger in the picture of the graduate on the cake. Funny who got up to see.Old teacher trick. I have chicken frying getting ready for 2 graduation parties. Missed going to a big meal where my dad grew up yesterday. Not many left, it is always fun.

Hello greetings and good wishes.

True all of us have to be grateful to the heroes who fought for us to live free and in the process gave up their lives.

We enjoy freedom because of their valor and sacrifice.

In this connection I would lie to reproduce the following quote

“We do not know one promise these men made, one pledge they gave, one word they spoke; but we do know they summed up and perfected, by one supreme act, the highest virtues of men and citizens. For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.”
- James A. Garfield

Very thought provoking post for the Memorial Day.

Best wishes
