When the wind blows

Monday we had some freezing rain and by Monday night the wind was blowing like crazy. It kept me up most of the night howling.
Tuesday morning, concerned that the car may be covered in ice I went to go check to see if I needed to scrape before I left for work. I opened my front door and found my storm door hanging by the bottom hinge. Apparently the wind caught it during the night and tore it partially off. As I drove down the road to go to work it looked like a war zone. Garbage was everywhere. Tuesday is garbage day so all the garbage cans had been put out Monday night and it was all over the road. At the end of my street there was a tree down in someone's yard.
I don't have any pictures to document any of it because I was too tired to stop and take any. All I could think about all day long was getting home and going to sleep.
When I got home, I laid down and guess what? I couldn't go to sleep. Isn't that the way it always goes.

Card for the day

I hate waking up and my first thought is when can I go to bed again and then when the chance comes, I can't sleep. Ugh! The wind sounds like it was awful especially if it caused you to howl all night! Hee hee, it's the way I read your sentence - you were doing the howling!

Sleep is like hunger - you go right past it and don't feel the need. I've been there - much too often.

Happy New Year!!!!!! Hope you and your loved ones have a blessed 2016....

I posted my "Year in Review" blog today. Had fun working on that one.

We have had that horrible WIND here ---but it's finally going to get cooler. Maybe Winter will FINALLY get here. Our poor flowers/plants think it's spring.

Hugs,
Betsy

Oh no Ann, what a mess! Hope that no one was injured during the wind storm :O( And that sounds like a resolution that I might possibly, maybe, if I'm lucky have a chance to keep! Hope that you can get some rest my friend, sending you some virtual Sleepy Time tea! Deb xo

Ice & Wind are not a great combination. We had snow (about maybe an inch, if that) and now it's really COLD but the roads are clear. - Thanks again for visiting my blog and I look forward to more great posts on yours in 2016.
