Dissolved

The other day on this post about the vitamins I'm taking Steve from Out on the Prairie left me this comment:

If you put the vitamin in a ounce of vinegar, you can see if it will dissolve in one hour. This is what it would do in your stomach before being pushed through your system. If it doesn't dissolve, then that particular brand won't do much for you.

Well you know I had to try it.

Looks pretty disgusting but now I know that my vitamins dissolve within an hour in the vinegar. Thanks for the info and the fun experiment Steve.

I can't remember where i had read this, but used u=it many times to test medicines and vitamins. That crazy scientist in me. Glad it worked, it can save a lot of money.

That is interesting and something I will have to try. I keep seeing an ad for something called Tespo vitamins come up on several websites I visit - it is basically a Keurig for vitamins, but the premise is that you first dissolve them in water.

to funny, i just did this after breakfast today. mine disolved in about 20 minutes and at an hour was about gone... so we are both safe. except who knows if this is the truth or not, will ask the doc if i think about it.

Interesting tip although Steve does realize that there are many more miles that the pills must traverse through your digestive track before they are ... ahem ... dispelled? Absorption of nutrients occurs there, not in the stomach. Deb xo
