Fitness takes time

Now that I've been working on getting healthier I've discovered that it takes up a lot of time. When I get home from work aside from the normal things I need to do I also have to work a walk in. That doesn't always leave much time for blogging. That's my excuse for not posting again yesterday.

I'm really liking my fitbit. I love how I can check my progress on my phone and it's really got me motivated to keep moving. Yesterday I got home from work and I was tired and just wanted to lay on the couch. I knew I hadn't hit my goal of 10,000 steps yet so I got my butt moving and went out and took a walk to reach my goal.

With the fitbit it even sends you a weekly  progress report. It's interesting to see how much I really did during the week. This is a screenshot of the email they sent.

The sleep tracking is pretty interesting too. It tells me what time I went to bed, how long it took me to fall asleep and how many times and for how long I was awake during the night or was restless.

I hear you! I need to have a fixed yoga schedule, otherwise I would probably skip it ;-)
That is interesting that the fit bit monitors your sleep patterns.

It's really a wonderful thing. I will also start doing with it. It is nice to see our efforts put for our healthy body.

You're doing very well. You'll have that other 10 pounds off soon. I know you said you felt better too. Way to go Ann.

Have a terrific day. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

One of the (many)things I hate about working full time is the lack of time for fitness! It truly is hard after being gone from home for 10 hours to get my butt out there and walk! Good for you for keeping the motivation. I have been a real slacker this summer!

It sure does take extra time but it'll all be worth it. Glad you're enjoying your Fitbit! I used to like it when I got it two years ago but now I hate it.

So you sleep with it on too? Wow, you ARE losing weight! We went to a surgeon yesterday, and she had a step counter on her ankle.

We love our FITBITS too ---and my daily goal is 9000 steps and we take a day off every week (usually Saturdays).... When we walk early in the mornings (when it's COOLER), I can easily finish the day with 12,000 steps. BUT---now that we are not walking as much (But are working in the yard both mornings and afternoons), my steps/miles are not as good...

One place I have you beat ---and you didn't even show it...That is FLOORS.... I assume since you are on flat ground there and don't go up and down stairs much that your floors are not as good as mine. We can't go anywhere without going up and down something... ha ha ... SO---I can easily finish a week with over 100 floors most of the time.... That helps with burning the calories.

I love the heart rate and sleep info too.... It's an eye-opener for sure...

SO proud of you... Keep up the good work..

Hugs,
Betsy
