Yo Yo Flowers

One of the girls at work is having a birthday this week. She went rather overboard on my birthday and now I feel obligated to get her something for hers. I bought a few things and made one. This will go in to the mix of gifts I'm giving her.

I used the fabric yo yo's and attached the buttons with a piece of wire and then covered the stem part with florist tape. I painted the spool then added the paper strip that I cut from an old calendar.I stuck the bouquet of flowers in the hole of the spool and added some spanish moss then glued on a couple of fabric leaves. The center for the biggest flower is a button that I covered with fabric with a half a cotton ball stuffed in to make it puffy.

You create the cutest things. I remember back in the early 1960's my mom and her friend made yo yo pillows. I love the spool as the flower holder!

I love yo yos and you put all these together so nicely. I think making them is kinda like therapy.

So bright and cheery! I have flowers made out of yo yos and buttons too. I didn't make the yo yos and I had my dad's wife put on the buttons but hey, it's crafty! Lol!
