What do you buy when you go to the grocery store? We went last Saturday and Wade bought burger, steaks, chops and chicken.
I had something else in mind.
Now I didn't intend to buy anything but when we got there they had all their plants reduced. I've been looking for a lilac bush so I asked the girl that was working outside if they had any. It was my lucky day, they did. Even better, they had two different kinds. I opted for this one. Nice size and only $19.99
Happy as a clam I headed into the store to find Wade. He didn't stick around and wait for me, all he could think about was "shopping, get in get what you want and get out". He is so NOT a shopper.
As I was saying I headed into the store but just before I reached the door I spotted this.
Don't you just love the colors? Want to see the whole thing? Well of course you do. Here it is
The best part about this whole shopping trip was that when I went to the register my $19.99 lilac bush rang up as $14.99. Yeah me!!!
That is so nice...what would men do without our knowing how to make everything more beautiful?! It looks great. :D
ReplyDeleteLucky YOU! Don't you just love an unexpected bargain? Woot woot!!
ReplyDeleteDi
You got a surprise bargain - so tell me this - did you buy the welcome sign and plant as well?
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is no shopper either!
You will love your lilac bush more and more and enjoy it blooms always. Happy surprise about the price too :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous color petunias! So perfect on the 'Welcome' planter. Lovely!
Are those peach colored petunias? Oh, a red wine lilac, I've not heard of one that color! I wonder if it will smell the same, probably! We have a large lilac bush right outside of our kitchen door, the scent is wonderful when there's a breeze. Be sure and try to plant yours somewhere you can smell it!
ReplyDeleteooh, what lucky finds - both are wonderful! Love the colors of the lilac and petunias.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny Ann! lol First of all, it's been a while and I wanted to tell you how nice and *springy* your blog looks .. love it!
ReplyDeleteThe plant is gorgeous and it being on sale makes it even that more pretty :) Love the colors and the planter is perfect!
hugs xo
Oooooh, drooling over here. Gorgeous finds!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm always perusing the plants wherever we go. You can never tell what you are going to find! Looks like you did well! :)
ReplyDeleteI shop like Wade. Get in, get what you need, and get out. My husband on the other hand is the shopper in this family. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your blooms. I'm sure we'll get to see them. Love the welcome sign and all those beautiful flowers too.
Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)
The flowers are beautiful and you will be so happy when those lilacs start scenting your yard and your home. We have a bush next door (at the evil she devil's house) and they do smell beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFor me it's depending on what kind of shopping I am doing. If I'm grocery shopping, I did exactly what Wade did. But if I went to the craft store, I could be there for hours.
ReplyDeleteOh you're lucky! I love lilacs and the welcome planter is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty good deal i would say for the lilac bush. The other welcome sign with the flowers are so pretty... didya get that too?
ReplyDeleteI really like that welcome planter! Great deal on the lilac bush too. That's the kind of shopping I like!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen that color lilac before....it's beautiful! You'll love watching it grow. The bargain price makes it even better for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat petunia color is new to me as well...I defintiely would not have been able to pass by that planter! Way better than meat!
Hey, you did great!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it when that happens? $5 off automatically. Those colors are gorgeous. Yep, guys just don't get the whole shopping thing :D
ReplyDeleteWowza - that is gorgeous Ann! And congratulations on the unexpected discount (don'tcha just LOVE those? ;o)
ReplyDeleteLove the welcome sign!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers at a great price :)
I really hope you are not offended by this, but I would rather Wade do the shopping for me than you. For the things he gets are a whole lot better tasting, and maybe even more nutritional. Although, nutrition is not high on my list of requirements.
ReplyDeleteWell that was a great deal. I would much rather buy flowers than groceries. But I would have bought the welcome bunch of flowers too but that probably wasn't for sale. Glad you got a discount. Have yourself a fun Thursday.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Ann. I love that Welcome sign. The Lilac bush is great also. I can't have one. My wife and granddaughter break out in hives.
ReplyDeleteSALE is a word that always draws me in
ReplyDeleteWow - you really made out with some beautiful purchases - yours to feed the soul and Wades to feed the body - sounds like a win-win to me! Enjoy .. Katie
ReplyDeleteHow Pretty! WISH I could grow one!! I hear the Silkie Lilac is also beautiful!
ReplyDeletehughugs
So you got the Welcome sign with the petunia? I like that sign a lot.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you manage to keep up with all the comments. As soon as you mention lilac I am transported back to a childhood garden.
ReplyDeleteThat is great! It's nice to have a pleasant surprise like that every now and then.
ReplyDeleteMy wife is the same way this time of year, she is always coming back with a plant or two.
I am just like Wade! I have my list; I get the stuff; I am OUT of there! Unless, it's a Home Depot or Lowe's...then, I like to take my time :)
I love lilac bushes and the other plant and plant stand is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteExcellent blog I hope you visit my blog and give me your opinion
ReplyDeleteLilacs are my favorite. I have one right outside of my front door. It smells sooo good when it blooms. I love to open all the windows and doors so the fragrance wafts in and all around the house.
