What could possibly be causing all the commotion on my street today? Is there a fire somewhere?
Why no, it's the annual fair parade. It goes right by my house. Of course there were marching bands.
Not everyone can say that a smurf rode by their house on horseback and waved at them.
I'm going to work at 4:30 tomorrow morning so it's an early night for me. I may not get around to visiting all of you until tomorrow.
early fall- lots of festivals and parades and chances for the schools to show off the bands!

Oh my goodness I loved that - we used to have the same thing happen to us when we lived up north - it was so much fun!

I love parades...happy...happy!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so red and cheerful! Well, of course the smurfs are blue and cheerful! Hope you get plenty of sleep tonight, 4:30am will come pretty quick! Wait a minute, tomorrow is Sunday, race day no less. Working should be forbidden!
ReplyDeleteHow neat they come right by your house! Riding backwards on a horse looks really uncomfortable!
ReplyDeleteGood looking band uniforms! Love small town parades...Oh so early to be up but so many people to make happy with your work...Yummy in the tummy!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that? Small town parades are such fun,
ReplyDeleteYea! Marching Season!!! We had our first competition today, but alas, no smurfs on horseback--but LOTS of marching bands!
ReplyDeleteEverything is red, what is the significance of that? Great shots! The poor little horse is wearing a hat that blinds him!
ReplyDeleteTime for the fairs. Fairs mean a lot of people. Hence forth a lot of donuts have to be made. Sorry Ann.At least it is neat that you get to watch the parade right from your house.
ReplyDeleteIt is very cool that the parade goes right by your house!
ReplyDeleteAt least you-all are smart enough to hold your fair during a time when the weather might be more tolerable. The average temperature was around 102 when we had ours last month.
ReplyDeletei am thinking it was confusing because the fire trucks were sliding off the road... LOL
ReplyDeletewhat was the parade for, did i miss a holiday? hubby says PA has parades for everything and anything.
How cool! And you got front row seats! Parades are fun.
ReplyDeletelove to see ponies in a parade!

ReplyDeleteHow great to have a parade come right by your house. You don't even have to take off your slippers to watch.
