my dad was a pastor, my brother slept through every sermon and I wished i could sometimes. ha ha. the sign causes some thinking and that keeps me awake
If you want to know what it really means - there is a Bible verse - that tells us to stay awake for Jesus is coming. Some some did keep their lanterns on and some went to sleep and they missed his coming.
I think that it is warning us to keep awake for his coming.
Maybe it's the rule there..or maybe they sit by a busy road? Or maybe you are right! ;D
ReplyDeleteHee hee! That's a clever sign! I'm not sure why it made me sleepy though! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a funny sign, it has a double meaning!!
ReplyDeleteops!

ReplyDeleteThis is too funny, lol! Makes me want to enter that church although I only like churches from the outside.
ReplyDeleteShort signs grab attention! That worked :) xx
ReplyDeleteHaha! I can't believe there's actually a sign that says that!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a trick to get people to come inside and find out why.
ReplyDeletehehe :) My first thought is too long of a sermon too.
ReplyDeleteI'd lay odds that every pastor on the planet has wanted to post that at one time or another. *laugh* Cute.

ReplyDeleteLots of people sleep in church on Sunday. It's a day of rest you know.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)
Maybe it's for people driving. Stay awake, don't fall asleep at the wheel. You should go ask! :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaaa....good one...

Our pastor likes to drag things out. Sometimes it feels like Bible Study.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a time I was siting in a courtroom, and the judge yelled at some guy for falling asleep. I felt a little sorry for the guy.
ReplyDeletemade me think of a Lyle Lovett song where he kept waiting for it to all be over.
ReplyDeleteThe Catholics are really good at short sermons. I'm good with that. It's many of us Protestants who drag the sermons out W--A--Y too long.
ReplyDeleteLove Sandee's comment. That is so true. It is a day of rest. Great sign.
ReplyDeleteHaha ~ perhaps! Very fun Ann!
