I grew up loving all Christmas songs. Of course as a child I loved the ones about Santa and I recall my dad singing them to me. I also remember learning all of the traditional carols. We had a little song book that each year I would pull out and I would sing each and every carol over and over. I would sing them anywhere and everywhere. These days my Christmas choral concerts are usually limited to the shower but I still love a good carol.
It was my dad also that gathered us around the piano, he could play anything he heard and had a gorgeous bass voice. :D
ReplyDeleteNothing better than some Christmas carols. I don't remember singing them much as a child but when my children were younger we would go out driving around looking at Christmas lights and playing Christmas songs...none of us can really carry a tune. But singing all together always sounded so good!
ReplyDeleteI love them, too! Did you create the beautiful star? Unfortunately, with this carol come stupid memories and naughty words from grade school:
ReplyDelete"We three kings of orient are
Riding on a loaded cigar"
I'm sure you know the rest...
I am a huge carol lover too. Although I love some of the christmas songs in the charts I don't think you can beat the traditional carols that have the real meaning or what christmas is all about. Enjoy your shower concerts!!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas songs too, with "In the Bleak Mid Winter" being my fave :) xx
ReplyDeleteSome of my all-time favorites are traditional Christmas carols.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture and poem!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas songs :) I was in the choir and I loved it. But, like you, I don't sing much these days...
I love Christmas music also---and am amazed that I still (after all of these years) know all of the words to so many of the songs.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteI start listening to Xmas music as soon as it's on Sirus radio! But my favorite CD is Tony Bennett's Christmas - Happy holidays to you and the family.

ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)
Christmas music, of every kind, is always a delight to my ears...
ReplyDeleteWe love all Christmas music. This star is beautiful Ann.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of fun with the song myself.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites- I sure wish we would sing more of them. They seem to have passed out of favor.
ReplyDeleteI love listening to Christmas carols. The older ones, not ones sung by Justin Bieber! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas carols too but can't sing for anything. In fact, it's best if I don't.
ReplyDeleteI do love that song Ann. Did you make that beautiful star? Awesome. sandie
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many of our under 25 years olds could sing these songs!?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little, I had a book of simple Christmas carols for the piano. I still have it and my daughter loves it.
ReplyDeleteWhen in doubt, sing loud. That's my motto all year 'round! :)
