Here we go again

Looks like we are in for another one of those weekends. We are under another winter weather advisory although this one is (as of the time I'm preparing this) only supposed to last until 9am today.
In preparation for the weekend, after I got home from work on Friday I dressed for the occasion. No, I didn't put on my snow suit and mittens and head to the back yard to build a snowman. It was warm cozy lounge pants, slippers and my robe.
After I was appropriately attired I set the scene.
Turn on fake fire place, check

TV, turned on
Kindle close by for my reading pleasure
Laptop also close at hand
Coffee, mug filled and fresh pot brewing
Camera just in case I feel like taking random shots out the window
I've also made a mental note of a couple dozen entertainment options I have to keep me occupied. Now all I need to do is figure out how to stop Monday from coming around so soon

  1. Stay away Monday!
We've got some snow flurries falling but I am no where near as prepared as you are!

  2. Slowing time on the weekend is what we all wish we could do. We need an inventor to get to work.

  3. We are having snow and sleet tonight, to be followed by an ice storm in the morning. Warnings of downed trees and lines. I'm like you, all of my best entertainment requires electricity, ouch!!! And that is the prettiest artificial fire I have ever seen!!

  4. Sounds comfy and cozy! Your fireplace is beautiful! And you have everything you need except...Duke! Where's Duke? My puppy dogs love to cuddle and they give off great heat. :) When I'm home for the evening I put on comfy pants, t-shirt and slippers. I'm all about comfort!
Focus on the moment and enjoy!

  7. We've got an icky weekend weather forecast too; ours is just not as pretty to watch as yours (a.k.a. rain). Blech.

  8. Our skies have opened up and are pouring down buckets of rain on us today. Too warm for it to snow...and our fireplace felt absolutely fabulous this morning. Even the pups enjoyed it.

  9. Your fire looks so inviting.
Rather a gloomy day here, no wind, just grey, can't wait until we start to get the spring days.

  11. Ann, you make a snowy week end sound like fun. You certainly are prepared to have some great down time, reading, TV and some internet. What could be better. Take care.

  12. Sometimes putting a pillow over your head as you are lying face-down in the bed and screaming, "GO AWAY! GO AWAY!! GO AWAY!!!," works. Well, at least it has on me a few times. (Okay, more than a few. Happy?)

  22. Hello!

You certainly have the right idea! I hope that your weekend is as enjoyable as you have planned! We finally did get heat in our building - it turned out to be the outside vents plugged with snow from our big snow fall! Take care!

  26. What wonderful pictures ....... I could almost feel the glow from the fire. We're up in the air again over here - middle of the night temperatures are 7C which doesn't seem possible - keep pinching myself to see if I'll wake up. Trouble is you know that you have to pay for mild Winter weather and the question is how?
Enjoy your weekend and snuggle up and keep warm. :)

  27. That definitely made me wish for a nice cozy snowy day where I didn't have to go anywhere!

  28. Yup, Monday is here. I'm hoping Om gets our new DVD player hooked up soon... limited entertainment options without it.
