Take a dive

Another archive dive that is.
I've mentioned before that I used to have a cat named Pringle. I was constantly pointing my camera at him and he was the subject of many edits.
As much as I would have liked to have kept him an inside cat, Pringle had other ideas. He loved to go outside. Often he would stay right in the yard but when the cat population started to grow across the street from me he started to wander.

During the course of my learning experience I discovered how to extract subjects from one picture and put them in another. Here I cut Pringle out of the above picture and inserted him into one I found on the internet somewhere.

This one I entered in to our local fair and actually won a ribbon. I think it was second place but I can't be 100% certain on that.

I sometimes wonder if my paparazzi ways and my flair for off the wall edits was the reason Pringle left and never came back. I mean seriously, he used to hide in the dryer just to get away from me.
I really miss that cat. Don't tell Duke I said that though.

  7. Pringle is very cute, I can understand missing him. I think your photos are fabulous and if Pringle was anything like Oreo, he loved having his photo taken.

  8. Hey! I think you should get another cat!!! Yeah, that's the ticket!

  9. Our mommy cat is the same way. For we have to be careful to keep her from getting outside every time we open the door to let the dogs out to go do their business. So far, we have been able to catch her when she has gotten past one of us, but I am fairly sure that we would never see her again if we were to leave her outside for longer than a few minutes.

  10. We like Daisy's suggestion. Pringle was so handsome. Too bad he left. Pringle, we can't believe that the Mom put you right in the middle of two very large cats. Yikes. Take care.

  15. Pringle is a handsome cat. I am always taking photos of my cat Bonnie. I think its because I want to actually get one that looks like her. She has a certain look I just cannot capture.

  16. You have such a wonderful talent and I thank you for sharing it with us (and giving me ideas once I get/learn Photoshop).
I am sorry to hear about Pringle. We had an outside cat when I was growing up. He would make it a point to hang around our backyard and keep me company when I was out there. Yes, he would wander, but would always come home and spend the night in our garage. Like Pringle, one day he never came back. However, my mom has many pictures of him, so I can remember him that way.
    Don't worry, I won't tell Duke :)
    Have a great weekend!

  17. Beautiful photos! I never had a cat who would voluntarily leave the house - well, Fat Man would occasionally go out to chew on some grass but we had to be there with him or he would high tail it back to the door. I used to walk my Siamese on leash but he complained every second and I would always wind up draping him around my neck and letting him view the outside world from there - No, no - I have never spoiled my cats...

  24. Pringle was very handsome and we're sad he left and never came back. We bet Duke would like a kitty around the house!

  25. Pringle was so beautiful! I'd like to say that I'm sure Duke would understand but if he's like Bubba, he wouldn't. Bubba hates Punkie and would be thrilled if she weren't around. Those little dogs want all the attention to themselves.

  27. Ann- there are really cool quilled initials on Pintarest. I'm waiting for an invite, so I can't link to it yet, I guess. But you should look.

  28. My cats always wandered off too. I think I miss all of them.

  29. You never really own a cat Ann. I have had cats all my life but they are very much creatures who are there own bosses and put up with the ways of humans. They can be very loyal but I have also had some that have left home. Don't be too hard on yourself over it. A cat is king in any house and only stays by choice.

All my cats go out and roam, I wouldn't have it any other way. i don't like to curb there nature to fit my whims!!

Maybe someday you will see Pringle again.

I love the eyes picture...very striking...you definitely deserved that prize!
