Today's post is another archive dive. I would like to introduce you to Molly
Molly was the dog I had right before Duke. She spent most of her years with another chocolate lab named Winston. Molly was the sweetest, gentlest dog I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She would back off of a bowl of food if another dog or even cat showed an interest in it and let them get their fill before she would eat. I rarely heard her bark. Winston was much like Duke, he barked at anything that moved so Molly never felt the need to I suppose. When Wiston crossed the bridge Molly found her voice. I think in her mind she felt it was her obligation to take over the roll of watch dog.

Molly is beautiful! There's just something about that look in her eyes!! I would love to get another big dog, but my husband says no way for now. It is kind of nice to have a watchdog in the house and I don't think two little white fluffs would scare anybody! Although, I have been bitten...by a poodle! She was a very old poodle and I believe she had trouble with her eyesight.
ReplyDeleteMolly looks so sweet!

ReplyDeleteso sweet, makes me want to cry
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story. I think it was nice that she found her voice after Winston left; someone had to do the barking.
ReplyDeleteLabs are about the sweetest things on 4 feet...
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at how we dog lovers can make out a dog's personality from even a snap shot-- Even before I read your write up I was thinking how calm and contented Molly looked!
ReplyDeleteA gentle dog with good manners
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet. I do think bigger dogs are gentle watchdogs. Funny Duke is white and little and Molly is so big and black. Tastes change. So are bigger dogs smarter then SMALLER ones? sandie♥
ReplyDeleteMolly sure is a beautiful dog...as is Duke and I'm sure so was Winston....it's funny how we remember our pets personalities so well....just like our childrens.
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done with her picture!!! She is beautiful but looks so sad...
ReplyDeleteMolly sounds like such a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she would back away from food. My dog has been known to snap at the cats if they get too close when he is eating.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely lady indeed. I am not looking forward to our Little Bit crossing the bridge. She'll be 10 in October.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. :)
She sure looked like a very sweet dog.
ReplyDeleteMolly was so beautiful and so sweet looking just like you describe her. I know you miss her. Dogs are just so wonderful! My doggies, especially Roxanne, are tuned into my emotions. They really seem to know when I need and extra hug. :)
