Snap!
I bet you thought I was going to say action didn't you? Oh my stars, no. What I had in mind here was a bit of copying from my friend Sandra of Mad Snapper fame. She did a post the other day about taking pictures and making stars out of lights (the Christmas tree kind) I thought it was very cool so I got out my tripod, camera and turned on the lights.
I first tried it on a string of lights I have on a bakers rack in my craft room.
Yes, I got stars. How cool is that? Since the picture wasn't real attractive I went down and turned on the Christmas tree lights.

You might have to look close at some of these but there are stars there. The two on the bottom left and the blue one bottom center are the most obvious in the picture.
Thanks for the snapping fun Sandra

Woof! Woof! Funny mom ask her and complimented her on her light photos. You did a great job. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be the most fun thing for bloggers to do this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteBack before digital, I used to have a filter for my SLR that did this to every point of light!
Pretty!!! I just love this time of year. And I must add the stars are beautiful Ann. Oh and your Snow Business post...hilarious. But, cute, cute snowmen. Oh, and can't go without commenting on the Reindeer Jar. How cute is that?!!!! What a clever, clever woman ------ and so crafty [pun NOT intended *well, maybe...no, not intended]
ReplyDeleteI want hubby to get the tripod out so he can take a few shots of our tree. I'll see if we can get some stars in our shots. How cool.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)
you did it, thanks to Diane for the suggestion. you got some really cool stars in the first shot. it seems to work better on lights standing alone. glad you had fun, waiting to see what you do next because you can
ReplyDeleteWell that was en-lightning...
ReplyDeleteI do see stars and they are very pretty. If we can get to our tree we will have to try this!
ReplyDeleteLooks so fun and festive...happy day!:-)
Very cool!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I need to try making some stars too!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby always does this with our tree. He gets the tripod out and makes stars. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stars!
Snap! You did it! Both of you - great pics! And I just now figured out how to attach my camera to the tripod... maybe next year I'll figure out the snap part. LOL.
ReplyDeleteReally cool! I can see the stars in your photos - must have been fun to do!
ReplyDeleteChristine
Pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Ann, but I missed how to do it. Tricia always has a beautiful tree. This would be great to do.
ReplyDeleteGood effect!
ReplyDeleteWho knew you could even do it. I must admit it is really a great effect.

Yes! I see them! So pretty. I'll be trying it too.
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty...I always wanted to know how people made them. Not sure my camera can do it.
ReplyDeleteYou twisted my arm and now I am going to look through all my old pictures to see if I can find any "stars" - lol... haven't found any yet -
ReplyDeleteHugs, antonella :-)
It doesn't take much to make you and Sandra happy, does it?????? I'm that way about waterfalls... Show me a waterfall in the woods (even a little one) --and I'm in Happy Heaven!!!!!! ha

It's nice snapping isn't it? I like the stars in the lower picture, very good.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Eva
Yep, if you put your camera on aperture priority, then set f/22, and put on a tripod (preferable to a monopod), then you'll get the twinkle lights effect! Pretty, pretty!
