The other day Sandra (Mad Snapper) sent me a link to a you tube video that showed how to make masks in photoshop elements. Of course I had to play around. I would share the link to the video but I apparently deleted the email and don't have the ambition to go hunt down the video.
I started out by making the mask and it looked like this
I dug in the archives for a suitable picture and after applying the mask and some textures I got this.
Then I had to do some more playing. Here I have the before and after. First is the picture straight off the camera with no adjustments at all followed by my altered version.
I just love playing around with pictures. Amazing how many different looks you can get from one shot.
It's amazing what you an do with a picture, to make it look more interesting. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I really love what you did to the second photo of the old barn!
ReplyDeleteI think even Zorro would be impressed!
ReplyDeleteYour masked pictures are beautiful! I love these before and after ones. Amazing how one image can get different faces!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so Jerry's comment made me laugh--just don't tell him, okay?
ReplyDeleteYou are so good with Photoshop!
what makes me MAD is I send you the link, and you do it and i do it and yours is always better than mine. for some reason mask and texture just don't come easy to me. i understand how and do it, but yours looks like art and mine looks like a two year old did it.
ReplyDeleteThese turned out great Ann!!

Very neat!
ReplyDeleteI love playing with masks! I have a few that I've made and that I've purchased. They really add a lot to a photo without taking anything away or becoming overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteI'm on that boat in the first picture. Yes I am and we're getting ready to leave the dock and go for a spin. Want to come along?
ReplyDeleteI love how you play with these pictures. Awesome.
Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. ☺
Woof! Woof! masking is something mom always gets confused ... it is just too much work. You did a great job. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteIn this case, contrary to my usual stance, I like the altered photo best...
ReplyDeleteVery Good. You and Sandra are both so talented... Great job, Ann.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteThose look terrific! Love that mask. I keep meaning to do some of my own custom masks and it keeps getting bumped down in the to-do list, LOL.
ReplyDeleteHello Ann I just discovered your lovely blog through Betsy. I love how you alter your photos. Do you have classes to teach how to do this??? I would love to learn how to be more creative with taking photos and altering them. Thanks for you help. Hugs Judy
