Hatched

Friday when I came home from work, as usual, I forgot about the nest and walked towards the front door. As usual, I also peeked in to make sure the eggs were still ok. To my delight there had been a whole lot of hatching going on.

This picture is pretty bad but I took this through the front door. They look like little aliens.


Saturday after checking to see if mama bird was anywhere around I got a little closer. If I had been a little quicker I would have caught one with it's little beak open. From this picture they really don't look like birds at all.

    Aw...such promise in that wee nest! I hope they all make it to live long, happy birdy lives.

    I found a drowned baby bird next to the pond. Apparently the frog took him for a little swim and then set him down. Must not have had a good grip on his dinner. That is the part of nature I do not like. :(

    Congratulations! Do you have a back door you can use till the babies get all feathered and can fly? You might scare the Momma away and then the little birdies....

    Mother Nature is quite amazing. It's always hard to believe how quickly they move from nakedness to fledgling! Enjoy the journey (and hope you can share it too) x

    They are so sweet and look like they need a quick visit from their mama! Our neighbor has a nest pushing their roof up (it does need repair) but I told my hubby today "Look the birds are raising Randy's roof" LOL! They must be building a mansion! Thank you for the great shots and enjoy a wonderful week.

    Charlotte is watching a nest of birdies at her house too. She wants to keep them as pets!!
