Some time ago I had painted two of these plaques using crackle medium. I had an idea in my head and painting the background was as far as I ever got with it. It was time to use them.
I printed out the saying and then glued it on to the background. I made yo-yo flowers in 3 different sizes. The stems were green jute twine that I coated in glue to stiffen them and then the leaves were made from a green glittery pipe cleaner. I also used the pipe cleaner for the hanger but I'm not sure if I like it. I may switch it out later for plain wire. I finished it off with the piece of burlap ribbon along the bottom to cover up the bottoms of the stems. Simple yet cute.
I got to thinking about these and the 5 that I did I drilled holes and added a wire for hanging. I was wondering though if maybe it might be better to attach a hanger to the back and then that gives you two options. You could either hang it or put it on an easel. I don't know, what do you think?

ReplyDeleteSimple yet so effective, I like this but I think a wire would look better than a pipe cleaner for hanging, otherwise I wouldn't change a thing.

I think everything needs an option to hang somewhere, because it is easier to find a place on the wall than a place to "sit" something, or at least that's what I hear. I really love your latest! Briony is funny isn't she. Happy day.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea of having the 'hanger' hidden!!! Gives the buyer at your craft fair a couple of options!! Maybe even a few with magnets behind it for refrigerator? Just a thought.
