Normally my pool is where I find all the beetles but on this particular day they were chowing down at a local eatery
Apparently they liked the cuisine
Did you know that beetles have been around for 270 million years? They can live in any climate and can range in size from microscopic to about 100 grams which is equal to a little over 3 1/2 pounds.

Last year is great, because I was not blogging and I missed it! This restaurant needs to do some bug control! It would ruin my appetite! And I would wonder if some of them crawled inside and were even attracted to the food! You did take great pictures of them, and the green headed ones are almost pretty with their polka dotted sides.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are very hardy and obviously like their greens :)
ReplyDeleteJapanese beetles, unique but harmful to plants
ReplyDelete3 1/2 pounds of beetle?!!! Holy crap.
ReplyDeleteThose Japanese beetles can be destructive. And they do come in swarms. Have a great day Ann.
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind with blogging that this is perfect! Neat photos. Wow, they are doing some lace craft work on those leaves. lol
ReplyDeleteLOVE that second shot.. really beautiful. and OH PLEASE not a 3 pound beetle... NOOOOO what is i put it on my table and it got lost
ReplyDeleteThey sound as hearty as cockroaches. This would ruin my appetite too. Just saying. I did enjoy the history lesson though.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
I don't want to meet a 3lb beetle!
