I finally got around to making this card from Awesome SVGs Not only does he provide the free SVG and PNG files to make the card but he has a video showing you exactly how to put it together.
Either I cut the outer card wrong or didn't line it up well but it's good enough. I think I may need to work on my coloring skills as well. The Cricut machine draws the outline of the cake and candles and then you need to color it in.
Here's the inside of the card. Let me tell you, the folding for this one was a real pain in the butt.
A better look at the inside so you can see how the cake pops up.
After taking the above pictures and before stuffing this in the envelope to mail, I decided to add a little stamping to the front of it.
I would make this card again, even though there is quite a bit involved in it. Maybe with some practice folding all the score lines would be easier.
That is truly a work of art Ann!

Your card is beautiful! I admire your skills and patience to make that pop up cake - well done, you. ^^
ReplyDeleteI admit that my patience were wearing thing when I made this one. I found out after the fact that there were a few tricks that would have made it easier
DeleteI love that pop up... it really is a work of art. I have zero patience, and I am sure this card required a lot of patience.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented. I love cards that are made by the sender far better than store bought.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
Aww, thanks. I agree too. I love anything hand made
DeleteWowzie! That looks complicated but really great. I like that you stamped the front - else it would look a little spare and bare. (And it could have used some glitter LOL)
ReplyDeleteNot really complicated but a bit time consuming and fidgety. I agree about the front, too plain with just the cake. There is a tiny bit of glitter from the pen I used to color the flames on the candles but they are so small you can't notice it.
DeleteThat is a very cool card!! Try watercolor instead of coloring. I have watercolor pencils that you color with, then go over with a brush with water. It gives such a cool effect and is super easy!
ReplyDeleteThanks. You know I have some of those watercolor pencils. I don't know why I didn't think to try those
DeleteWow a true work of art.Way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you
