I'll take you back out to the yard with a few more pictures that I took the other day.
This is the Lupine that I used to have tons of but something viney has choked out most of it over the last several years. Fewer and fewer come back each year.
The lambs ear around the tree in the front yard is growing like a weed.
The yarrow is another thing that has fallen victim to the viney stuff. This used to overflow the front area and hang out over the sidewalk, Now only a small patch remains.
The Lupine is a beautiful color. I love the feel of Lamb's Ear! I don't know anything about yarrow, and have never seen any! The foliage is beautiful, almost like a fern.
ReplyDeleteThe yarrow gets little white flowers on it. They were spreading like crazy until whatever they viney stuff is got in there and started choking everything out
DeleteThe only one I have is Lambs Ear and it seems to be struggling. Heat is unreal already and I just have not been watering like I should. I am glad that you I found that craft bug again. I worried about you after Wades death but with mom gone, I understand it now. You lose the interest. Keeping on crafting.

DeleteThat lupine is gorgeous! I love those colors. Lambs ears looks so soft and silvery. Does your yarrow have yellow flowers? It is too hot and humid for all of those to grow down here, although I've tried with yarrow before.

ReplyDeleteOh me too. Of course considering that my job is my only source of socializing, it's probably best that I still work. OTherwise I would be a total hermit...lol
DeleteIf it is any consolation, I can't get lupine to consistently return. Maybe it just doesn't like the conditions. So...I try something else the following year. I'm so weird--that is my joy--to buy perennials to see what works and what doesn't in my yard.

Deleteyour photos are "crafted" - you took the time to shoot them, decide where to stand, and what angle. Maybe you should print them out on heavier weight paper and see how they look (framed as well)
