It's that time of year where I attempt to get into the holiday mood. I like Christmas but sometimes it can be stressful and overwhelming. Being alone has it's challenges as well. All in all I think I'm doing ok so far.
I turned on Frosty the snowman which I haven't seen in several years.
I think I may have fell asleep before it was over though.
I did get the tree up and decorated.
I bought this ornament for Wade the very first Christmas after we met.
Awww, such a cute, sad ornament. Your tree is s pretty and big! Presley will love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that ornament! Holidays can be hard but you seem to be doing all right if you can decorate that tree. (I stopped decorating several years ago.) Warm wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to remember your dear man...he's there with you, celebrating.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch any of those holiday specials. Boring! (Sleep thru them for me too)
Hi Ann what a special decoration, love memeries ,your tree looks great and I love Frosty the snowman xx
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful...the ornament you bought for Wade is cute. I am sure it must stir up.memories.
ReplyDeleteI have a post coming up about our first ornament, not nearly as cute as yours. I love the mice. your tree looks so pretty. maybe it it will lift your spirits and you can do the rest of your decorating. I have not had a full sized tree since 1980 when I got divorced. Bob and I first tree was 3 feet, sitting on a table. and each year I have gotten less and less, and have two 2ft trees that may or may not go out. the 3 years I lived alone I had an 18 inch tree. Hugs to you and my heart feels your pain at being alone..
ReplyDeleteOne step at a time, Ann - you're doing well - Christmas can be tough. Your tree looks very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have those good memories for the holidays. Your tree is lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour Wade+Ann ornament is so sweet, I hope it brings good memories. A big, strong hug.

ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
Ginny, thanks. Presleys mom posted a picture of her laying under their tree the other day.
ReplyDeleteCheerfulMonk thanks. I've thought about not decorating but I really do enjoy seeing them.
Anni, He might be although he never liked Christmas.
Sheryl, Thanks.
Sandee, thanks. I've got that ornament hanging front and center right where I can see it :)
Ann...I bet he likes the ornament now.
Deletepopped down to the mall and it's packed...with people, christmas "must haves" and so forth. I went directly to hair cutting place and the lassie buzz cutting my hair, asked "how's your C...-shopping going?" she was quite surprised that I did none! Other than sell 8 of my notebooks to someone else to use as gifts...
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what I'm doing for the festive few days...this time last year I hadn't much idea either but in the end I went on a tour that included all of the period...this year "so up in the air"
Catherine, I don't want to go anywhere near the mall this time of year. I have no plans for doing much shopping at all. Going on a tour sounds like fun
ReplyDeleteAnni, you may be right.
Glad you got your tree up. I haven't started yet. I'm just not feeling it yet. I actually I should be done by now because it usually takes me a week and Thanksgiving was last week!
