I want a do over

Yesterday for my day off it was gray and gloomy and lazy. Today I have to go to work and I just want to have another day off instead. I want another chance to either be totally lazy again or spend it another way.

If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.
If turnips were swords, I'd have one at my side.
If "ifs" and "ands" were pots and pans,
There'd be no work for tinkers' hands.

  1. I had forgotten this rhyme! One day off seems just enough to make one want more.

  3. Your day off must have been a good one if you're yearning for another. ^^
I like that ditty - it's not one I've heard before. Give Gibbs and ear scratch from me.

  7. I can remember that feeling. Now every day is Saturday or Sunday. You'll get there, Ann.

  8. I wish you had another day off too, Ann! And I had no idea there was more to the saying "If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride." Absolutely no idea! *HA* Thank you for the rest. ~Andrea xoxo

  10. I love a day or two "off"...where I am not feeling obligated to work (I make my own hours and work from home), clean, or do laundry. But, they do make me feel worse later when I do have to do those things.

Hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods today. That always helps.

  11. I have always heard that first line, but I don't think I knew it was part of a rhyme.

  12. Ginny, I don't think I've ever heard the whole rhyme until I looked it up for this post

    CheerfulMonk, me too

    Anni, I sure do

    Ella, I totally agree

Sandee, maybe some day I'll get to experience every day being Saturday

Andrea I actually thought it was if wishes were fishes and I didn't know there was more after that

Pam on my do over I would like a little more sunshine

Lin since my days off are split up it seems like there is always something that needs taken care of. It doesn't mean that I always take care of it though
