This late in the season the flowers on the hydrangea start to fade in color. They don't look as pretty as they did earlier in the summer. It does give them sort of a vintage look though.
as hydrangeas are so pricey, i was able to snag one at 1/2 price at Lowe's [$11 from $22). I have planted it in a sunny spot in the front of my house and hopefully I have planted it deep enough to survive the winter in South Central PA.
The faded hydrangeas do have a unique, vintage charm to them as the season progresses. Their shifting colors create a beautiful, nostalgic feel, adding a touch of elegance to the garden. It's amazing how nature transitions through such distinct phases of beauty. www.melodyjacob.com
I had been thinking the exact same thing!! They look vintage. Maybe even more beautiful than when they were in full bloom!!
ReplyDeletevintage means faded with age, and I am vintage myself. ha ha I wish my vintage was as gorgeous as your vintage here wow, that is a lot of blooms
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage look. Pretty in photos. Side note, I love vintage bakeware, bowls and casserole dishes.
ReplyDeleteI think the #hydrangea are beautiful throughout the life cycle. I could not pick a favorite stage of bloom.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say your photos are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful Ann! Faded they may be on their last hurrah, but still putting on quite a show.
ReplyDeleteThey go through a huge colour spectrum.
