Combining two crafts

I had been itching to do some simple sewing projects. My problem is that my sewing machine is upstairs and it's in a cabinet so I have to go up there to use it. I can't take Gibbs up there with me because as I've said before Gibbs can't be trusted. I debated about it for a while and decided to purchase an inexpensive Brother sewing machine. It's portable so I can use it in whatever room I want to.

I decided I wanted to make some easy zipper pouches. I found directions on Pinterest. But I said I was combining two crafts. So what's the other one? It's using my Cricut machine to cut out iron on vinyl sayings to put on the zipper pouches.

The first one I made is 5x8 and the other ones are 4.5x7.
I had to black out part of the word on the one because I don't use those kind of words on the blog.

Oh and these are lined too

I have so much fabric in my stash that I want to start using it up. These are nice ways to use it. I had all the fabric and the zippers in my supplies already.

  1. The linings are gorgeous! They should be the outside! My favorite is the snacks and makeup one. They can be used for so many things, too!

  3. cute little bags and like Ginny said, Multi Use is what they are. love the inside fabric.. I had to laugh at you choosing to put zippers in things, because in 1959 home economics glass, I got an F on my make a dress with a zipper project, because the 3rd time I ripped out the zipper to redo I tore the dress in half... for some reason I got and F. I will not be copy chatting this one for sure.

  10. Cool....how is that machine. Work pretty well with little projects? Mom gave me her big one with tons of bells and whistles, but it was more than I needed or wanted to deal with so I gave it to a friend. But would love a small one like this. Great job on your zipper pouches.

  12. That is a sweet little portable machine! Love the pouches, but even more when I saw the lining surprise! I have always had trouble with zippers and found them nerve-wracking since Home Ec in the 60s! Kudos to you, talented one! :)

  13. I admire anyone that can sew such wonderful things. I am pretty dismal sewing myself. I did it when I was younger out of necessity but never enjoyed it and envy those who do...

  14. A great idea getting a lighter sewing machine. They look really pretty. Putting your crycut words on, fun and your blacked out word gave me chuckle. I also enjoyed your 'might be make up might be snacks', very cute and others. You have such a great creative mind going on, applauding you as always.

That is the exact sewing machine I bought a few weeks ago but mine is blue. I still haven't tried using it.
