Sew and sew some more.

Mostly I'm looking for simple projects that don't require a whole lot of skill or time to complete.

These jar openers were the perfect fit for that.

This is a set of two. Each one has a different top fabric.

The other side uses that gripper shelf liner.

I haven't tried these out on a jar to see how much they help in opening a jar.

The other project I tried was a fabric basket. This one I sort of half followed the tutorial and I didn't use any interfacing because I didn't have any. I also used a white thread which doesn't look so great showing up on the black fabric.

This one is pretty small and not real sturdy but it would be cute to use to  put lotions or something similar in for a gift.

After I made this one I found another tutorial that sounded much easier to do and I'm going to attempt these again.

  1. I actually think the white thread on the black makes a nice looking trim. What a clever idea to make the jar openers pretty.

  4. OMG. I wanna make a fabric basket now. Recently made a crochet cross body bag and been using that now for wow, maybe two months? Time is a blurr, it's hard to be sure. But I love the idea of a fabric basket to hold balls of yarn.

  5. You've really been keeping yourself busy. I love the basket. I think the white thread gives it a pop and looks great. It doesn't look like it was a first time making for you at all. Have a great Friday.

  6. Ann, those are cute and look like a lot of work! Sandra is right - my mom made an Easter basket and eggs, and it was beautiful. I bet you could do that.

  8. The bags and pouches are fun to make. I like projects that can be finished in a day or two. I would not make a good quilter. I want to be done and onto something else. This is adorable!

  10. Love the fabric basket and the black and white really make it pop. I have a heavy duty plastic jar opener and use it practically daily. The best invention ever... Such great uses for your scrapes. Glad you are keeping busy.
Today its pouring again ... dark and gray and windy. Almost makes me want to run away somewhere warm and sunny.
