Patriotic decorating

I decided to put away the spring stuff and move into the red white and blue.. I made a cute little hanging decoration for the 4th of July. This is made with paint sticks

I cut the paint sticks to the length and angle I wanted them at and then glued them together to make the number 4. Then I painted it and added a bow, small flag and some pipe cleaners that I twisted around a pencil. I was going to put the word July on the angled part of the 4 but I had already applied an antique wax and the vinyl didn't want to stick.

Next I decided that I wanted to put something in the back of my truck that sits on the top of my fake fireplace. It sits empty most of the time. I gathered some flowers that I had in my stash along with a piece of foam and started arranging. Flower arranging isn't my strong suit but I didn't think it looked too bad.

  1. The truck is AWESOME!!!! And I love your fourth sign, it is farmhouse chic. Quite a few houses around here already have 4th decorations out!

  3. I knew when I saw these that Ginny would be really exited over that truck and she was and is... they are both so cute and I lean toward the 4th for favorite. I am now wondering if I could draw the 4th on iPad.. might try.

  13. Sweet decorations! I was just thinking this morning about decorating for the 4th. Then I yawned and shook it out of my mind. I'm getting lazy in my old age . . . it was fun to do before because Steve truly enjoyed and appreciated it :)
