Eye appointment

For the past several years I've been going once a month for an eye exam. It started the year I had an issue where the pressure in my one eye was extremely high and sent me to the ER.

Wednesday July 9 was my appointment at 7:45 in the morning. I took it only because this was the third time they had scheduled it. The first two were cancelled because the doctor was going to be in surgery. Normally I don't go so early.

It was a quick appointment and he said everything looked good. Told me that if I can get away with cheater glasses to just keep doing that and he would see me next year. They always dilate my eyes though which I hate. I posted this picture on Facebook

I came home from the appointment and was exhausted for some reason so slept a good part of the day. While I was awake I had my sunglasses on though. It seems like it takes forever for them to get back to normal.

  1. Wait, you said you go once a month. But then he said he will see you next year? You must have meant that you go once a year. I have to go twice a year because I have Macular Degeneration. Why had they said the pressure in your eyes was so high?

  3. Glad to hear the appointment went well. Same about the dilation. It takes mine forever to get back to normal too. Ugh.

  5. The dilation eye drops sting and always give me a headache. Still, it's better than the alternative . . .

  7. Take care of those peepers... I've had 3 surgeries so I go back every 6 months.

  8. *haha* Your eye picture looks like it belongs on the front of a thriller novel or something, Ann. You look mighty good in those shades. Like my Mom used to say....if you're tired, sleep! I'm glad you got the rest & that your eye appointment came out ok. Love, Andrea xoxo

  9. I get my eyes dilated once a year to check for diabetic retinopathy. I always have a headache by the time my pupils return to normal in a few hours. Love your sunglasses!

  10. thankful you don't have to go back for a year. It does take a while for the dilation to go away....sunshades are great aren't they?

  12. I don't like dilation either. I am glad that your eyes can go once a year now - every month is rough.

  14. Seems like any medical appointments are exhausting to me. Glad you rested. And glad you don't have to go back for a year. Did they give you any reason for the pressure being high in your one eye?

  15. Last time I had my eyes dilated it took forever, I wonder if that has anything to do with age. I know my eyes are so much drier now as I get older. It seems I'm constantly using eye drops.

  16. I feel you on the dilation part; everything stays blurry forever! my friend. Resting afterward sounds like the perfect idea. Hope your vision stays great with those trusty cheaters

  17. I do not like when they dilate my eyes. Sometimes it has been okay but the last time I had a horrible time driving home. Glad your appointment went well.

  18. Good for you getting these check ups. Good to get the rest when you can. Listening to ourselves is important. I have been napping a lot lately.

  19. I remember that with your eyes, now that you mention it, but I had totally forgotten it.
