Countdown to Christmas

Well we are in the final stretch, only a few more days to go. I've decided that whatever I haven't gotten done by now just isn't going to get done. I don't care if all the cookies are made. I won't be sending out Christmas cards this year. Stocking are not going to be over stuffed with little goodies. And most of all, if I haven't bought it by now, it's not going to be under the tree this year.

I decided that I probably stretched out the trivia posts as much as I can and since I haven't shown you a before and after recently of one of my photo edits, I thought that would be a good choice for today.

This is what I started with.

I decided that I wanted to put a nativity scene in the opening at the bottom of the bell. Since I don't have a set of my own I couldn't take a picture of one. I grabbed a picture off of  MorgueFile and did an extraction on it.
Here's what I ended up with.

I used a couple different filters and played around with blending modes a bit to make it look more like a painting than a photo.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas or at least finding lots of time to do all the last minute things.

  3. I'm glad your aren't going to stress over what isn't done. That's a great call. Too many folks get all stressed out during the holidays. I'm with you. Not stressing here either.

I love what you did with the ornament. Now that's downright clever.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  4. At this point, it's not worth the stress to get done what isn't done and just enjoy the season. At least that's my theory and I'm trying to remember it every time that feeling of stress arises!

I like your edit. Wish I knew how to do that but maybe next summer I'll finally have time to learn Photoshop.

  5. I feel the same way. If it's not done already it's not going to happen. I didn't get cards out and I haven't received very many either. I love what you did with the bell. I wish I knew how to edit and play with pictures like that.

  6. I like it, that's a funny idea, and well executed. I'll buy some little presents this week... I'm a bit tired of it, and I admire your decision!

  7. WOO-Hoo! Girl you are the photo editing queen - nicely done! I can't even remember the last time I sent out Christmas cards, but I think everyone has cut way back (we've only gotten 3 or 4 cards this year, compared to about 30 last year). Remembering the reason for the season (Jesus) and time spent with family and friends are what's most important during the holidays, not how much you got done (and thank goodness for that, right? ;o)
