This month's challenge is to make a card with at least on quilled flower and one butterfly. I really wasn't entirely happy with this card. I think the papers that I used are just a little too busy. The butterfly may not be exactly what they were looking for either but it is a butterfly, or it was meant to be anyway :)

ReplyDeleteSo, tell us how you do quilling. I've always seen the finished product, but never the process. Maybe you can get Duke to quill while you photograph or vice versa.

livintheblues also known as paper filigree, it's rolling thing strips of paper into coils. There's more to it but I'm not so good at splaining :)

fishhawk I believe it was because originally they used to use goose quilles to wrap the paper coils with.
Philippa ah yes the glitter, a cool idea that went bad in one spot....lol I had this wonderful idea to dip the leaves and loose coils in glue then glitter and the one leaf got a little too much glue and the glitter globbed on.

You did such a great job, Ann! All your practice is really paying off... look how evenly you did the spiral circle - that's hard to do! Your butterfly is definitely recognizable - and cute.
