Last weekend we stopped in a place that I've never been to before. The building was originally an old train station. Now it is home to the Meadville Council On The Arts. Inside is like walking through a craft show. My kind of place.
Outside they had a farmers market. I loved the look of the building
Another glimpse of a little piece of history.
Tomorrow I'll show you what I found upstairs.
A beautiful old building, I just love it! :D
ReplyDeleteI love strolling through places like that - seeing old structures filled with interesting treasures and an open air market or two...maybe a sidewalk cafe and a little people watching ... very nice!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear what they had upstairs - looked really nice!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great looking place. We have places sorta like that down here in the South that are old train stations. They are used for farmer market goods. What a neat idea to have a craft place. Bet you liked that place Ann. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know where this beautiful building is! Your blog does not say what state you are in. Nancy
ReplyDeleteThis building looks nice. Great that they restored it and found another use for it rather than tearing it down.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and commenting on my story! You're first again!

Love old railway stations ... built so sturdy! Sounds like cool stuff inside!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking building, in fact it reminds me a bit of our downtown here in Roanoke!
ReplyDeleteIt has old-fashioned charm! Can't wait to see what you find!

We have an old train station that looks very much like this, but they have turned it into restaurants. Now I can't wait to see inside!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat place, Ann... I love it when they take an old building and preserve it in some way. I've seen other old train stations like the one you show here that have been restored for other uses. NEAT.

Betsy

ReplyDeleteMy kind of place! TFS
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful old building and I am happy they are preserving it. the one we used to travel from in Savannah GA is now a museum.
ReplyDeleteI know this is a tangent but I love farmer's markets. Crafts, I am not so crazy about (except yours of course) but I could spend hours at a farmer's market.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to go with you to this place. Way cool.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific weekend. My best to Duke. :)
Is it just me or is shopping in historic buildings better than in modern ones? I look forward to seeing what you found!

ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful building. I'm always glad when towns find a use for these old places instead of tearing them down.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy farmers market with all the wonderful fresh fruit and veggies. To add art and crafts would just make it so much more interesting.
ReplyDeleteLove that last photo - these old buildings are the best!
