sit in the bed yourself and get your scent on it, put it on the sofa and sit on it, or leave it there... hope you are off to have fun... will be waiting.
Hopefully, one of our pups will claim Obie's bed before too long. For it lying there empty is a painful reminder. The funny thing is that they did not seem to mind beating him to his bed and refusing to leave without a fuss before his passing.
...I'll let you in on a little secret Duke....there are couches, chairs in our rooms too, and I end up stretching out on the floor all the time. More comfortable to me.
As for the smoking habit being broken...more power to you. I have been one for decades, and I've stopped. The longest period was 3 years, and then Bud and I went into a smoke filled barroom and I lit up. Been one ever since. AGAIN!!
Raider isn't into dog beds either. He does, however, LOVE pillows and prefers them stacked high. I just shake my head as he climbs, turns and struggles to get it all just right.
We had a dog bed for our pooch, Buddy, and he adored it. It was HIS kingdom. He would try to sit on it whenever I tried to take off the cover for washing. He was 100#, so we had a wrestling match going on!
I hope you are alright!!! Maybe if you rub the bed with meat...
ReplyDeleteTake care, Ann...((hugs))
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will be doing something fun for the next couple of days. Poor Duke...did you try leaving treats hidden in it??

ReplyDeleteSome dogs just find a bed too hot. Hope whatever takes you away is something fun.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteTell Duke that it's nice to have options!!
Bless his heart. He'll eventually get in that bed. He will when he's older and his bones hurt to lay on the hard floor. You'll see.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see you when we see you. My best to Duke. ☺
Maybe if the bed was on the rug he'd like it better? You know the saying, location, location, location!
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself. We'll miss you but will be here when you get back!
Are you leaving us for a vacation?? Enjoy your time! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, just don't let Duke catch YOU sleeping in his bed!Hahaaa...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time away...
hughugs
Woof! Woof! I wonder WHY? Where are you going, Ann. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

ReplyDeleteMy boys do the same thing! I get nice, comfy bed but they rather sleep on the floor!
ReplyDeleteHobbes bails on his basket in the summer--it's too warm. Does Duke like it in winter?

Duke has a mind of his own :) I am just now catching up on everyone's blog after being sick...I will stop by and say hi in a few days. Dee
ReplyDeleteHaha that's Moon too! Hope all is ok with you!
ReplyDeleteWe (I) ordered two ortho beds for our GSDs and they do sleep on them thank the lord. The hubs thought it was rather dumb to get beds for them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a familiar site! Brian bought Bubba a beautiful one, just like Dukes. He has not even touched it! Punkie though loves hers!

ReplyDeleteThe little ungrateful booger! LOL...
