A while back when I posted the first page in my new art journal Joan asked how I got the gold sunbursts.
This is the page I'm talking about
You can see one of the gold sunbursts she was asking about in the lower left corner. This is what I used to paint that page.
Plastic caps off of various bottles, a wooden spool and for the sunburst I used a nylon mesh bag rolled up. I had bought some wooden spoons and they came in that bag. I had read somewhere else about using different things around the house to paint with so I thought I would give the bag a try. I liked how it worked
You are so inventive! This is a wonderful tip. I would never in a million years have thought of this, I do not have a creative mind.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I would never have thought the sunburst was made with that mesh bag :)
ReplyDeleteupcycling is just the best thing ever isn't it Ann..especially when it turns out so well!!!
ReplyDeletethis is amazing to me that simple things from around the house can create art.. but it does have to be in the hand of an artist.. i am wondering what it would look like if i did it...
ReplyDeleteAs always you use the most mundane items to create your art...I love your creativity.
ReplyDeleteYou, dear Ann, are VERY creative!! What ingenious methods to get a certain look. Outstanding.
ReplyDeleteSee you think of these things. Me I never would. Just wouldn't occur to me whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. My best to Duke. ♥♥♥
Who woulda thunk it? Not me! You're so dang crafty!
ReplyDeleteWho would have THUNK it????? Only a crafty person would know how to do this ---that would NOT be me.....
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are giving great information to others who can do this kind of stuff....
Creative Lady--you ARE.
Hugs,
Betsy
And you complain about not blogging????? Really???? In awe over your creativity!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your technique...I have been saving lids and all kinds of stuff LOL to journal with...and your right...do what you love.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you for answering! I never would have guessed that! I'm considering some fabric painting, and I like it.
ReplyDeleteBe forewarned, this is how Jackson Pollock got started, and we all know how his artistic career went.
ReplyDeleteI love your saying and I totally agree!
ReplyDeleteLove the use of the mesh bag...Very clever! These kind of prints would be such fun to do with my grandkids!
ReplyDeleteYou're so creative! I have a hair bun maker thingamajig that looks like that mesh bag - it's called a donut.
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you before how much I like this? I may steal your idea!
